The humble petition of William Fargher of Cooilcam in the parish of
Malew
Sheweth:
That Elizabeth Fargher your petitioneršs wife departed this life on the
29th of July last intestate.
That your petitioner is most anxious to have administrators appointed
and sworn in due form of law as soon as possible as there are many
things belonging to the estate of the aforesaid deceased which require
immediate attention and which your petitioner is well convinced he
cannot interfere with until Letter of Administration be granted.
Therefore your petitioner prays that your Reverence will appoint an
early day for hearing of this petition and that your petitioner with
others may be duly sworn in as administrators of the estate of the said
decreased and your petitioner shall pray.

Ordered that this petition do come on to be heard at a Special Court to be
holden in Douglas on Thursday next the third day of September at twelve
o 'clock

At a Court holden at Douglas the 3rd Sep 1840.
Wm Faragher and Thomas Shimmin are sworn well and truly to
administer the estate and effects of Elizth Faragher deceased to pay all her
just debts and funeral expenses so far forth as the goods extend and the law
bind them and to return a true and perfect inventory of the said estate and
effects to the Episcopal Registry of this Diocese when
thereto lawfully required and to these ends Wm Fargher and John
Shimmin have become pledges for the said Wm Faragher and Thomas Shimmin.
