In the name of God Amen.
I Thomas Quinney of Ballacrine in the parish of St Ann being of sound
mind memory and understanding at the making hereof and to avoid disputes
after my decease do make publish and declare this my last will and testament
in manner following that is to say. I commit my soul to
God and my body to a Christian burial at the discretion of my executrixes
herein mentioned.
I leave and bequeath unto my son Thomas the sum of five shillings.
I leave and bequeath unto my two daughters namely Mary Cain (widow)
and Esther Quinney all the rest of my goods, chattels, cash, and effects of
what kind or nature soever they may be.
I nominate, constitute, and appoint my said two daughters Mary Cain and
Esther Quinney joint executrixes of this my last will and testament and
do hereby make null and void all other will or wills by me at any time
heretofore made declaring this only to be my last will and testament as
witness my name this the 19th day of July 1838. Thomas Quinney Signed
published and declared by the testator as for his last will and testament
in our presence who at his request in his presence and in the presence of
each other have signed our names as witnesses hereunto: John Karran Thomas
Quinney
At a court held in Douglas on the 10th day of September 1840 Mary Cain widow
the surviving executrix by the last will and testament of Thomas Quinney,
deceased, was sworn fully and faithfully to execute the last
will and testament of said Thomas Quinney according to law to which
she has given pledges in due form viz Thomas Quinney of Malew and John
Karran of Santan.
