The humble petition of David Cain of the parish of Jurby
Sheweth, That Thomas Cain your petitioner's son departed this life sometime
in the month of November 1840 unmarried and intestate and your petitioner is
desirous that administration of the estate of the said Thomas Cain be
granted unto your petitioner's son Cæsar Cain the only surviving brother of
the said deceased.
Wherefore petitioner pray that administration of the said estate may be
granted unto the said Cæsar Cain and petitioner will pray.

At a Chapter Court held in Ramsey the 26th Nov 1841.
Upon hearing this petition in presence of the parties and their advocates
and it appearing that Thomas Caine a bachelor son of the petitioner departed
this life some time ago instate and without issue and the petitioner having
renounce all claim to the administration of his estate
in favour of his other son Cæsar David Caine. The said Cæsar D. Caine is
therefore decreed sole administrator of all and singular the rights goods
credits chattels and effects of the said Thomas Caine and he is therefore
sworn well and truly to administer the same according to law to pay all
just debts and funeral expenses of the decease so far forth as the goods
will extend and the law bind him and to return to the Episcopal Registry
a full true and perfect inventory of the said goods and effects with and
accurate account of all his acts and proceedings in the premises when
thereunto lawfully required and to these ends he has given pledges
namely J. Morrison and J. C. Stephen Esq who have entered into a bond to
that effect in presence of the court.
