The humble petition of John Morrison
Sheweth: That your petitioner's wife Catherine Morrison some short
time since departed this life having first duly made and published her
last joint will and testament whereof she appointed John Morrison her
surviving husband executor. That it is necessary that the said joint will
should be proved and adjudged or some other fit and proper person sworn
executor.
Wherefore your petr prays a hearing hereof and that your Reverence may be
pleased to receive the said will and also to appoint your petr or some other
fit and proper person executor in due form and your petitioner as in duty
born and will ever pray.
Ordered that this petition do come on to be heard at a court to be holden at
Douglas on Tuesday next with notice to parties.

This will will be found in the will of John Morrison of Douglas proved 9
July 1888 No97
Whereas the Eccl Court of this Diocese hath this day granted Probate of this
will of Catherine Morrison late of the town of Douglas deceased to John
Morrison.
And whereas Robert Craine of Braddan and William Morrison of Douglas have
agreed to become pledges to the said John Morrison the executor is also
sworn guardian over the children under age named in the will. Therefore know
all men by these presents that we the said Robert Craine and William
Morrison hereby bind and oblige ourselves and our Executors and
Administrators, as pledges to the said John Morrison for the due and
faithful administration of the goods and effects of the said decease,
according to law.
Witness our subscriptions this 25th day of May 1841.
