In the name of God Amen. I Thomas Corkan of the town of Peel being of sound
mind, memory and understanding, but considering the uncertainty of this mortal
life. Do make this my last will and testament. In manner and form following.
First I commit my soul to almighty God and my body to be buried at the
directions of the executrices of this my last will.
I give ......... and bequeath to my loving and affectionate wife Dorothy Corkan
otherwise Killey and Catherine Corkan my daughter, all and singular the whole
of my personal property and effects, goods, credits, rights, chattels, bills,
bonds and securities and mortgages, notes, specialities of every kind and
outstanding debts without reserve or restriction. Which now belong or was or
may be owing to me the said Thomas Corkan. Hereby leaving and bequeathing to my
children by my former wife the following legacies
To my sons John Corkan, James Corkan, Robert Corkan, Jane Corkan, Christian
Corkan, now the wife of John Watterson and Sophia Corkan, the several sums of
five shillings each and I do further nominate constitute and appoint them the
said Dorothy Corkan my said wife and Catherine Corkan my said daughter whole
and sole Executrices and Residualancy Legatees of this my last will and
testament hereby revoking any former will or wills by me at any time before
made.
In witness whereof of the said Thomas Corkan .....hereunto subscribed my name this 14.3.1839
