31 Arbory/Jurby 1842
This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of Henry Cubbon formerly
of the parish of Arbory but now of the parish of Jurby by and with the
consent of Ann Cubbon his wife both calling into mind the uncertainty of
human existence of this transitory life - do make publish and declare this
presents to be their last will and testament in a joint manner. They both
committed their soul to Almighty God and their
bodies to the earth to be the interred in a Christian like manner.
And as touching and respecting their worldly goods and effects they
jointly leave and bequeath as hereafter mentioned Imprim: They left devised
and bequeathed to their Eldest son and heir at law Thomas
Cubbon their right title and interest of and unto their present estate of
lands situate in the parish of Malew known by the name of Ballaquayle
and Baldraw with the houses building and edifices on the said estate erected
with the appurtenances to the same appertaining. He our said
son after possessing the said estate to pay our daughters Eliza and
Margaret Cubbon the sum of two hundred pounds British each. They left
devised and bequeathed to their son Robert Cubbon that estate lands and
premises situate in the parish of Arbory commonly called Ronague with
the intacts thereto attached with the houses building and edifices on the
same erected with all privileges and appurtenances to the same
belonging and that possessing the same to pay his brother William one
hundred pounds British. The said different bequeathed estates to be
immediatley possessed by their said sonšs Thomas and Robert and at the death
of the survivor of them the said Henry Cubbon and Ann Cubbon the testator.
Item They left and bequeathed to their daughter Ann the wife of John Cowley
the sum of fifty pounds British.
They left and bequeathed to their son Richard Cubbon the sum of fifty pounds
British.
They left and bequeathed to their said daughters Eliza and Margaret a
feather bed, bedding and complete.
They left to the poor of the said parish of Arbory the sum of two pounds
British.
And lastly they nominated constituted and appointed the survivor of
them the said testators Henry Cubbon and Ann his wife whole and sole
executor or executrix of all their worldly effects moveable and
immoveable of whatever kind description or denomination soever and residuary
legatee as witness their respective names 14th day of October 1832.

At a Chapter Court holden at Ramsey 17 the May 1842 the executrix is sworn
in court in form of law and hath given pledges for the payment of debts and
legacies namely Thomas Cubbon and Robert Cubbon both of Bretney in the
parish of Jurby

For John Corlett and Margaret his wife rec'd cancelled legacy of feather bed
and bedding complete see will of Ann Cubbon Testamentary Book

Edward Collister of Kenna KG received two hundred pounds sterling being
a legacy bequeath to Eliza Callister als Cubbon 28 Apr 1865.
John Corlett formerly of Kirk Michael but now residing in city of
Cleveland Ohio USA received two hundred pounds sterling bequeathed to
Margaret my wife daughter of Henry Cubbon and Ann his wife on 23 Oct 1865.
William Cubbon of Jurby but now living in Cleveland Ohio USA Joiner and
builder received one hundred and ten pounds being the legacies
bequeathed to me by the said Henry Cubbon and Ann Cubbon my parents 24 Dec
1866.
