Braddan 1843
The humble petition of Elizabeth Geneste of the parish of Malew
spinster.
Sheweth: That the Reverend Lewis Geneste of the town of Douglas sometime
ago departed this life having duly made his last will and testament whereof
he appoint his brother William Geneste his executor in trust who departed
this life without having obtained probate of the said will. That petitioner
is the only person that takes a benefical interest under the said will and
is therefore desirous that the same should be proved in usual form and
petitioner sworn administratrix of the estate
and effects of the said Lewis Geneste with the said will annexed. Wherefore
petitioner prays a hearing hereof and that your Rev may be pleased to
receive the said will and grant Letters of Administration of
the estate and effects with the said will annexed of the said Lewis
Geneste to petitioner she will pray.
Ordered that this petition come on to be heard at a Court to be holden at
Douglas on Friday next whereof all proper parties to have notice.

This is the last will and testament of The Reverend Lewis Geneste of the
town of Douglas.
I give devise and bequeath unto Elizabeth Geneste all my right title and
interest in an to certain buildings and premises situate near the Douglas
lands called "The Baths" together with the yards and premises thereunto
adjoining in the occupation of James Aiken.
Secondly I give devise and bequeath unto my dear mother Catherine Geneste
one moiety of the residue of my real and personal estate of whatever nature
the same may be.
Thirdly I give devise and bequeath unto Ann Bell the other moiety of my real
and personal estate of whatever nature the same maybe.
And lastly I nominate and appoint my brother William Geneste executor
in trust of this my last will and testament and earnestly request that
he will bring my affairs to as speedy a close as possible and declare my
firm conviction that my only righteousness consists in Gods mercy through
Christ Jesus his beloved son. As witness my subscription this thirtieth day
of March one thousand eight hundred and thirty eight.

I Lewis Geneste earnestly request that Catharine Geneste and Ann Bell
will as soon as possible after my decease divide the property bequeathed by
me for them. And that my executor may put no obstacle in their way
