Michael 1843
This is the last will and testament of me Thomas Caine of the parish of Kirk
Michael in the Isle of Man Yeoman.
I leave and bequeath to my daughter Jane wife of John Corlett of the parish
of Kirk Michael the sum of two pounds sterling as legacy.
I leave and bequeath to my daughter Eleanor(Should be Elizabeth) wife of
William Sayle of the parish of Kirk Santon the sum of two pounds
sterling as legacy.
I leave devise and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of my estate
and effects real and personal whatsoever and wheresoever
whether in possession reversion remainder or expectancy unto my son John
Caine whom I nominate constitute and appoint sole executor of this my last
will and testament
As witness my subscription this 13th day of March in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty seven (1857) Thomas Caine Signed
and duly executed by the said Thomas Caine the testator when of sound mind
memory and understanding in our presence who at his request in his presence
and in presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witness

At a Chapter Court held in Kirk Michael the 30th day of January 1862.
William Cannell and Thomas Caine the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing
paper writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Thomas Caine
the testator having made oath on the Holy Evangelists that the testator when
of sound mind memory and understanding duly signed and executed the same as
and for his last will and testament in their presence John Caine the
executor therein named is therefore sworn well and truly to fulfil and
execute the said will according to law, to pay all
just debts legacies and funeral expenses of the testator so far forth as his
goods will extend and the law bind him, and to return a true and
faithful inventory of the same with an accurate account of his acts and
proceedings in the premises to the Episcopal Registry of this Diocese
when thereunto lawfully required and to these ends he hath given pledges
namely Thomas Caine of the village in the parish of Michael and William
Cannell of the same place have entered into and executed the usual bond
in presence of the court.
