1 Braddan
In the Name of God Amen, I Isabella Kelly (alias) Kermode widow, of the
Town of Douglas, being in sound mind and memory , maketh my last Will and
Testament as follows,
first I Commit my soul to Almighty God and my body to a Christian buiral,
Secondly I leave and bequeath to my son John Kelly all and singular my
moiety or share in a dwelling House or Houses with their appurtenances
Situate and being in that yard in a strand street in Douglas aforesaid
commonly called Coulthard (?) Buildings and bounded on the North East by
the Rent of John Quirk Deceased on the south west by the Rent of Mrs.
Crellin and on the North West by other Dwelling houses part of the said
yard or Coulthards buildings, the said moiety or share of said dwelling
houses to be possessed or enjoyed by him the John Kelly for and during his
said natural life time taking possession thereof immediatey at and upon my
demise, and at and upon the decease of the said John Kelly then the said
moiety [or?] share of said dwelling house or houses and premises to fall
and decend and become the property of my three Grand Children, Children of
the said John Kelly Namely Ann, Isabella, and Elizabeth Kelly, and to be
divided between them in the following manner, the Kitchen and the Room
above it to Ann Kewley the wife of Thos Kewley and the parlour and the Room
above it to Elizabeth Corlett wife of Wm Corlett and the remainder of the
said House or Houses to Isabella wife of Thos Quayle=
I leave and bequeath to my son Robt Kelly a House in old Cattle market
street in Douglas (bounded on the west by Mrs. Kewleys Rent and on the
North by the publick street and on the East by Mrs. Hoop (?) [Rent?] and
on the south the aforesaid Mrs. Kewleys Rent.
I leave and bequeath to my son John Kelly all that I have given him out of
my own hands goods or money of what nature so ever
I leave and bequeath a Chest of drawers to Margreat Kelly my Grandauaghter
John Kelly's daughter, I likewise leave a feather bed to the said Margreat
Kelly
I leave and bequeath to my grandaughter Elizabeth Corlett a feather bed
I leave and bequeath to my Great grand daughter miner Quayle a desk now in
her father's possison (possession)
I leave and bequeath to my Grand son John Millburn a large Chest and
likewise Two Pounds in cash
I leave and bequeath to my great grand daughter viz Wm Taggart shoemaker's
Eldest daughter a Chest coloured blue
I leave and bequeath to my great grand daughter viz Wm Taggart shoemaker's
youngest daughter a red Box
I leave and bequeath to my grand daughter Isabella Taggart Wm Taggarts wife
a Cubbert (?)
I leave and bequeath to my grand son Robt Kelly son of Robt Kelly the sum
of Two Pounds
I leave and bequeath to my grand son Edd Kelly son of Robt Kelly the sum of
Two pounds
I leave and bequeath to my Grand daughter Mary Ann Kelly, daughter of Robt
Kelly the sum of Two pounds
I leave and bequeath to my grand daughter Margreat Kelly daughter of Robt
Kelly the sum of Two pounds
I leave and bequeath to my grand daughter Eliza Kelly daughter of Robt
Kelly Two pounds
I leave and bequeath to my grand son James Millburn the sum of one pounds
I leave and bequeath to my daughter Margret Taggart wife of Henry Taggart
the sum of two shillings and six pence
I leave and bequeath to my daughter Cathe Millburn, wife of Isaac Millburn
Two shillings and six pence and I leave my Sunday Clothes to the said Cathe
Millburn, and Margreat Taggart wife of Henry Taggart to be Equally divied
between them
I leave and bequeath to my sister Elizth Quayle all my wearing apparearel
lastly I appoint nominate and constitute my son Robert Kelly to be my
Executor of all my goods and Chattles and effects moveable or imoveable of
what nature soever and making null and void any former Will or wills by
me made, as Witness my Name this 20th April 1843

The Executor is sworn in court in form of Law and hath given Pledges for
the Payment of debts and Legacies naely Daniel Cowin and William Quiggin
