Whereas the ECCLESIASTICAL COURT of this Diocese hath this Day
granted Administration of all an singular the goods rights
credits chattels & effects of Amelia Monk late
of Lezayre deceased, to John Monk, in trust for himself,
& others namely Mary Corlett wife of T.A. Corlett, Prestwood Harris wife of S. Harris
Eliz’ Andrew wife of John Andrew and Geo. Monk next of kin of the Deceased.
AND WHEREAS Joseph Mawby Esq of Ramsey
in the Parish of Maughold and Geo. Monk
of the Town of Ramsey in the Parish of Maughold
have agreed to become pledges to the said John Monk.
Therefore, Know all Men by these Presents, that We, the said Joseph
Mawby and Geo. Monk hereby bind and
oblige ourselves, and our Executors, and Administrators, as Pledges to the said
John Monk for the due and faithful Administration of
the Goods and Effects of the said Deceased, according to Law. Witness our
Subscriptions, this 27th Day of February 1846.

That Amelia Monk of the
town of Ramsey some time ago
departed this life
That your Petitioners have
a claim against the Estate of
the said Amelia Monk and
it is necessary that some fit
and proper person be appointed
to administer to the said Estate
wherefore your Petitioner
humbly prays a hearing
hereof and that your
Reverence may be pleased
to appoint the next of
kin or some other fit
and proper person ad-
ministrator of the said
Estate and your Petitioners
will pray ….. ……

Ordered that this Petition do come in to be
heard at a Vicar’s Court to be holden in Ramsey
on Friday the 27th Inst whereof all proper parties to
have due notice – given this 17th of Feb., 1846

At an Eccl. Court held in Ramsey the 27th Feb. 1846
upon hearing this Petition in presence of the parties it appears
that Amelia Monk therein named departed this life in the month
of Nov. last Intestate and without _____ leaving John Monk
& Geo. Monk her brothers and Mary Corlett, Prestwood Harris
and Eliz’th Andrew her sisters and next of kin who are therefore
Decreed joint Admtrs of all and singular the Goods rights
Credits Chattels and Effects of the Deceased and then
John Monk having agreed to administer the same ____ ______
John Monk is therefore sworn in trust well and truly to administer
the said Estate according to law to pay all just debts
& funeral expenses so far forth as the Goods will allow(?)
tand the law bind him and to return to the Episcopal
Registry a full true and perfect inventory of the same
with an accurate account of all his acts and
proceedings in the pursuits(?) when thereunto lawfully
required and these ends he has given pledges namely
Joseph Mawby and Geo. Monk who have executed the
usual Bond in presence of the Court.
