In the Name of God Amen
I Philip Quiggin of Michael Doth Make this my Last Will and Testament
in manner and form following --
First I Commit my Soul to God and my Body to Christian Burial
Also I Leave and Bequeath to my son Charles Quiggin the sum five pound [sic]
Also I Leave and Bequeath to my son John Quiggin the sum of Three pounds.
Also I Leave and Bequeath to my son Philip Quiggin the sum of Three pounds
Also I Leave and Bequeath to my son Robert Quiggin the sum of one pound
Also I Leave and Bequeath to my Daughter Ann Wife of William Sayle the sum of Three pounds,
The foregoing sums to be Brittish [sic] Money
Lastly, I Nominate and appoint my two Daughters Namely Catherine
and Jane Quiggin Sole Executrits's of all the rest of my goods Chattels
and effects moveable or immovable of what Kind or nature soever Ratifying
this and no other to be my my [sic] Last Will this 25th Day Novr 1836

At a Chapter Court holden at Kirk Michael the 28th October 1847
John Quiggin one of the subscribing witnesses to the execution of
the foregoing paper writing purporting to be the last Will and Testament
of Philip Quiggin deceased having made Oath on the Holy Evangelists that
the said Philip Quiggin the executing party thereto when of sound disposing
mind memory and understanding duly signed and executed the same as and for
his last Will. and Testament in his presence and in presence of Philip Quiggin
the other subscribing witness thereto (since deceased) Catharine Quiggin one
of the Executrixes and Thomas Caine husband of Jane the other Executrix in
said will named are thereupon sworn well and truly to fulfil and execute the
said Will according to law - to pay all just debts legacies and funeral
expenses of the Testator so far forth as the Goods and Effects will extend
and the Law bind them. And to return to the Episcopal Registry a full true
and perfect Inventory, of the said Estate with an accurate account of their
acts and proceedings in the premises[?] when thereunto lawfully required And
to these ends they have given pledges in form of Law namely - John Quiggin
of Bu(a?)llamena and John Quiggin of Ballashoghlage both in the parish
of Michael.

Received at the Episcopal Registry the 13th day of April 1852 from
John Quiggin of Michael R. Brown DER
WHEREAS the ECCLESIASTICAL COURT of this Diocese hath this day granted
Probate of the last Will and Testament ----- of
Philip Quiggin late of KK Michael deceased, to Cathe, Quiggin and
Thos Caine husband of Jane Caine the Executrixes named in said Will
AND WHEREAS John Quiggin of Ballamena in the Parish of Michael and
John Quiggin of Ballashoghlage - in the Parish of Michael have agreed
to become pledges to the said Cath, Quiggin & Thos Cain
Therefore, KNOW ALL MEN by these Presents, that We, the said John Quiggin
and John Quiggin hereby bind and oblige ourselves, and other Executors,
and Administrators, as Pledges to the said Cathe Quiggin & Thos Caine for
the due and faithful Administration of the Goods and Effects of the said
Deceased, according to Law. Witness our Subscriptions,
this 28th Day of Oct, 1847. -

Charles Quiggin a legatee named in the beforegoing Will appeared at
the Registry and acknowledged to have received and been paid the sum of
five Pounds bequeathed to him in the said Will. Also appeared John Quiggin
another legatee herein named and acknowledged to have received and been paid
his legacy of three Pounds bequeathed to him also appeared William Sayle
husband of Ann Quiggin and acknowledged to have received and been paid the
legacy of three Pounds bequeathed to his said Wife - and they the said
Charles Quiggin, John Quiggin and William Sayle hereby ..[illegible].ally
discharge, exonerate and acquit the Exor and Executrix - their Exors Admors.
and Assigns. of the same. and of every part thereof. As witness their
several subscriptions this seventh day of August one thousand eight hundred
and forty eight.

Philip Quiggin and Ann Quiggin alias Kaneen formerly of the Parish of
Michael but now resident in America having by power of Attorney under
their hands appointed & duly acknowledged the same before the High Bailiff
at Ramsey on the 18th 1842
John Quiggin of the Parish of Michael & Thomas Caine of Douglas their
lawful Attornies - The said Attornies do hereby acknowledge to have
received and been paid the sum of Three Pounds bequeathed to the sd
Philip Quiggin in & by this will and they the said John Quiggin &
Thomas Caine do hereby exonerate discharge - and acquit the Exors Admors
Assigns of the same & of every part thereof
As witness their signatures this 26 Janry 1849
