At a Chapter Court holden at Kirk Michael the 28th October 1847 
Catherine Kay of the parish of Kirk Patrick having departed this 
life on or about the tenth day of October Instant and Intestate, and 
this Court having received intelligence thereof, hath (for the 
preservation of the rights of all persons concerned) Decreed Eliza 
Kay and Anne Kay her two daughters Co-administratrix's - and 
Robert Kay deceadents husband is appointed Administrator in 
Trust for the said Eliza and Anne Kay of all and Singular the 
Goods, Rights, Credits, Chattels and Effects, moveable and 
immoveable whatever of the said Deceadent. And he the said 
Robert Kay is in Trust thereupon sworn, well and truly to 
Administer the same, to pay all the Intestates just Debts, so far 
forth as the Goods will extend and the Law bind; and return into 
the Episcopal Registry a full, true, and perfect Inventory whereof, 
and an accurate Account of all Transactions, touching the same 
when thereunto lawfully required And to these ends he the said 
Robert Kay hath given pledges in form of Law, namely John 
Thomas Cannell of [Berk] in the parish of Michael and James 
Cowin of [Lhiargeydhoo] in the parish of German.
Decretum Est

Whereas the Ecclesiastical Court of this Diocese hath this day 
granted Administration of all and Singular the Goods and Effects 
of Catharine Kay late of Kirk German deceased, to Robert Kay the 
husband in Trust for the two daughters and only next of kin of 
deceased namely Eliza Kay and Anne Kay.
And Whereas John Thomas Cannell of [Berk] in the parish of Kirk 
Michael and James Cowin of [Lhairgeydhoo] in the parish of 
German have agreed to become pledges to the said Robert Kay.
Therefore, Know all Men by these Presents, that we, the said John 
Thomas Cannell and James Cowin hereby bind and oblige 
ourselves and other Executors, and Administrators as Pledges to 
the said Robert Kay for the due and faithful Administration of the 
Goods and Effects of the said Deceased, according to Law.
