1st Lib 1847 Lonan
1847		By the mercy of God I Phillip Croughan of the
1st Book     	Parish of KK Lonan being weak in body but of 
		perfect mind and memory thanks be to God therefore
		calling unto mind the mortality of my body and 
		knowing that it is appointed that all men must
die and in order to prevent any disputes
after my decease do make and ordain this
my last Will and Testament that is to say
principallty I commit my soul to God
through his kind Redeemer and my body I
recommend to the earth to be buried in a 
decent Christian burial at the discretion of my
executor. And as to my worldly goods and 
effects I dispose of them in the following manner
and form……………………………………..
Item. I leave and bequeath to my daughter Ann the 
sum of ten pounds
Item. I leave and bequeath to my daughter Jane the sum 
of one shilling
Item. I leave and bequeath to my daughter Isabella the 
sum of five shillings
Item. I leave and bequeath to my daughter Margaret the sum of two shillings and sixpence
Item. I leave and bequeath to my grand daughter
Ann Cowley, daughter of Matthias Cowley, all my right 
and title to the Houses and Lands which I have
in the Parish of Lonan.
Item. I leave and bequeath to the poor of this Parish the 
sum of two pounds to be divided among them by the 
Vicar and Wardens
Item. I leave and bequeath one shilling to to any person
or persons that may claim a just right in my effects
hereafter
Lastly I nominate and appoint my Son in Law Matthias
Cowley whole an (sic) sole Executor of all the rest of 
my effects Goods and Chattels movable and 
immovable real and personal of whatever kind
or nature soever and I do acknowledge this and
no other to be my last Will and Testament. Witness
my subscription this the fifteenth day of March
one thousand, eight hundred and forty seven

26 May 1847
The Executor is sworn in Court in form of Law and 
hath given pledges for the payment of Debts and Legacies
Namely William Kewly of Croit e Quill and Thomas 
William Kerruish of Kielcallin – both in the parish of
Lonan.
