Ballaugh
In the name of God Amen I Henry Caine of the parish of Ballaugh
(House Carpenter) being in ill health and weak in body but of
sound mind memory and understanding at the making hereof. Do
make my last Will and Testament in manner and form following:
I commend my soul to God and my body to Christian burial.
I leave and bequeath a legacy of two shillings and six pence to
each of my several children . And I nominate, constitute and
appoint my wife Charlotte Maria Caine Executrix of this my last
Will and Testament and residuary Legatee of my Goods Rights
Credits Chattels and Effects or personal Estate whatsoever and
wheresoever. I also nominate and appoint her my said wife
Guardian or Supervisor over my children. In testimony whereof
I have hereunto subscribed my name this tenth day of June in
the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty-five. 1845

I Charlotte Maria Caine within named as Executrix do hereby renounce
the burthen of the Execution of the Will of Henry Caine my husband
deceased and do declare that I have no intention to prove the
said Will or undertake the Executorship thereof.

At a Chapter Court holden at
Ramsey 28th May 1847
Henry Caine of the Parish of Ballaugh having departed this life on
or about the seventh day of January last, having previously made
And published his last Will and Testament whereby he appointed his
wife Charlotte Maria Executrix and residuary Legatee and she having
renounced the burthen of the Execution thereof and this Court
having received intelligence thereof, hath (for the preservation
of the rights of all persons concerned) Decreed Thomas Clarke of
Ballaugh Administrator in trust with the beforegoing Will annexed,
for the benefit of the Executrix and other interested parties under
said Will, of all and singular the Goods, Rights, Credits, Chattels
and Effects moveable and immoveable whatever of the said Deceadent??
And he the said Thomas Clarke is thereupon sworn well and truly to
administer the same to pay all the Deceadents just debts and funeral
expenses so far forth as the Goods will extend and the Law bind and
return into the Episcopal Registry a full true and perfect inventory
thereof and an accurate account of all transactions touching the
same when thereunto lawfully required. And to these ends he hath
given Pledges in form of Law namely Thomas Mylrea of Ballacooley
in the Parish of Ballaugh and John Kelly of Ramsey in the Parish
of Maughold.

The above personal estate of the sd deceased Henry Caine amount in
the whole to the sum of £20-15-10 and this we give as our return
in the premises this day month and year first above written

Whereas, the Eccelesiastical Court of this Diocese hath this day
granted administration of all and singular the Goods and Effects of Henry Caine
late of Ballaugh deceased, to Thos Clark of Ballaugh in trust for the benefit of
the Executrix and other interested parties under the will of deceased –

And Whereas, Thos Mylrea of Ballacooley in the parish of Ballaugh and
John Kelly of Ramsey in the Parish of Maughold have agreed to become
Pledges to the said Thos Clarke.
Therefore, know all men by these Presents, that We, the said Thomas Mylrea
and John Kelly hereby bind and oblige ourselves, and our Executors, and
Administrators, as Pledges to the said Thos Clarke for the due and faithful
Administration of the Goods and Effects of the said Deceased, according to Law.
