Santon August 7 1847
This is the last Will and Testament
Of Wm Morrison of the Parish of Santon
I leave and bequeath unto my wife
Isabella Morrison five shillings
I leave and bequeath unto my son
John Morrison the horse cart gears and
all farming implements belonging to me
and I also leave unto my daughter Jane
Cain Margaret Quayle and John Morrison
all the remainder of my money and goods
of every kind whatever except the mortality
money that shall become due at my decease
which I leave unto John Morrison aforesaid
leaving him to be my executor and
paying all legacies at the end of twelve
months after my decease.
This the seventh of August one thousand
eight hundred and forty seven --------------

At a Chapter Court holden in Castletown
the 27th October 1847
John Collister and Joseph Cowin the subscribing witnesses to
the execution of the foregoing paper writing purporting to be
the last Will and Testament of William Morrison deceased
having made oath on the Holy Evangelists that the said William
Morrison the executing party thereto when of sound disposing
mind memory and understanding duly signed and executed
the same as and for his last Will and Testament in their
presence. John Morrison the Executor in said Will named is
thereupon sworn well and truly to fulfil and execute
the said Will according to law – to pay all just debts
legacies and funeral expenses of the testator so far forth
as the goods and effects will extend and the law bind
him. And to return to the Episcopal Registry a
full true and perfect inventory of the said estate with
an accurate account of his acts and proceedings
in the premises when thereunto lawfully required
And to these ends he hath given pledges in form
of law namely William Morse of Ballavilla
John Collister of Oatland both in the
Parish of Santon
