In the name of William Hinds of Arbory in the parish of Arbory Esquire
considering the uncertainty of this mortal life do make ordain publish
and declare this paper writing as and for my last will and testament in
manner and form following.
First I commend my soul to God and my body to a Christian burial.
I leave and bequeath to my heir or heiress at law that large silver tray
and silver cup left to me by my uncle Captain Hugh Crow to descend from him
or her as an heirloom and I wish the same always to continue in my family.
I leave and bequeath to my friends Edward Moore Gawne of Kentraugh in the
parish of Rushen Esquire and Joseph Mawby of Ramsey Esquire all my household
furniture, silver plate with the exception of the large tray and cup herein
before disposed of and given in trust that they the said
Edward Moore Gawne and Joseph Mawby and the survivor of them and the heirs
and assigns of such survivor shall and will suffer and permit my beloved
wife Margaret Micklejohn Hinds alias Crinal to hold possess and enjoy the
same and every part thereof for and during the term of her natural life and
upon her death they the said Edward Moore Gawne and Joseph Mawby and the
survivor of them and the heirs and assigns of such survivor shall and will
make over the said household furniture silver
plate and linen to my eldest son if any I shall have by my said wife
Margaret Micklejohn to whom I do hereby leave and bequeath the same
and in case there be no son then and in that case that they the said Edward
Moore Gawne and Joseph Mawby and the survivor of them and the heirs and
assigns of such survivor shall and will make over the said household
furniture silver plate and linen to my daughter Margaret Micklejohn and in
case of her death to my next surviving child by my said wife Margaret
Micklejohn to which child or children I do hereby leave and bequeath the
same.
I leave and bequeath to my said daughter Margaret Micklejohn all the rest
residue and remainder of my goods chattels and effects of what kind
description or denomination soever, but in case, another daughter should be
born issue of my said wife by me the said William Hinds my will and desire
is that my said daughter Margaret Micklejohn and such daughter
not yet born shall have the whole of my personal property preserving to my
said wife Margaret Micklejohn the use of household furniture silver plate
and linen for and during the term of her natural life as herein
before mentioned equally between them but in case of there being a son born
to one the said William Hinds by my said wife Margaret Micklejohn
then and in that case my second daughter if any such there should happen to
be is to have the whole of my said personal property with the
exception of my silver plate of every description herein before
mentioned and subject the reservation of the household furniture silver
plate and linen during the life of my said wife Margaret Micklejohn as
herein before also mentioned.
I leave to every other person claiming an interest in my estate the sum
of five shillings
I nominate constitute and appoint the said Edward Moore Gawne and
Joseph Mawby executors in trust of this my last will and testament
hereby revoking and making void all an every other will or wills by me
heretofore made.
In testimony whereof I the said William Hinds have hereunto subscribed
my name this Twenty fifth day of February April One thousand eight hundred

testament who in his presence and in presence of each other have hereunto
subscribed our names as witnesses:
The word February being first obliterate and the word April entered
such as thereof.
