In the name of God Amen.
I Jane Maddrell of the parish of Malew widow of William Maddrell late of
the said parish of Malew deceased being of sound mind memory and
understanding at the making hereof but considering the uncertainty of
this life do make this my last will and testament in manner following
viz
I commit my soul to God and my body to be buried at the discretion of my
executors hereinafter named.
I leave and bequeath to my granddaughter Jane Caine of Castletown the sum of
five pounds sterling, a feather bed, and rug.
I leave and bequeath to my granddaughter Ann Cain of Castletown the
sum of five pounds sterling.
I leave and bequeath to my granddaughter Elizabeth Cain of Castletown
the sum of five pounds sterling.
I leave and bequeath to Jane Coole alias Qualtrough the sum of five
pounds sterling, a chaff bed, and my best gowne.
I leave and bequeath to my granddaughters Jane Cain Anne Cain and Elizabeth
Cain aforesaid the whole of my household furniture which is in
the house of my son in law William Cain of Castletown to be equally
divided between them.
I leave and bequeath to my grandson Henry Maddrell of Liverpool the sum of
one pound sterling.
I leave and bequeath to my granddaughter Jane Cain alias Maddrell of
Liverpool the sum of one pound sterling.
I leave and bequeath to my son in law William Cain of Castletown the
sum of two pounds sterling.
I leave and bequeath to my granddaughter Jane Coole aforesaid the one half
of my wearing clothes.
I do hereby nominate and appoint my two sons John Maddrell and Robert
Maddrell whole and sole executors residuaries legatees of all the rest
residue and remainder of my goods chattels and effects of every nature and
kind whatsoever and wheresoever hereby revoking and making void
all and every former will or wills heretofore made and executed and I do
declare this only to be my last will and testament.  In witness whereof I
have hereunto subscribed my name or caused my mark thereto to be affixed
this Twenty sixth day of August One thousand eight hundred and forty seven.

and testament in our presence who at her request and in her presence and in
presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses:
