49 Lezayre 1841
I Patrick Caley of the parish of Lezayre calling to mind the uncertainty
of human life do proceed to make publish and declare this my last will
and testament being of sound mind memory and understanding at the making
hereof.
First I commit my soul to God and my body to Christian burial.
Secondly I leave and bequeath to my son John the sum of five shillings
British a legacy.
Thirdly I leave to my son Thomas five shillings British as legacy.
Fourthly I leave to my son William five shilling British as legacy. Fifthly
I leave to my son Daniel my share right or moiety of all and singular my
purchased lands as well quarterland, as intack land, and all houses, and
appurtenances thereto belonging to be possessed by him at and upon the death
of his mother but not sooner, subject to such encumbrances as may affect the
same at the time of my death.
Sixthly I leave to my daughter Jane Christiana Caley the sum of ten
shillings British as legacy.
Seventhly I leave to my loving wife my share of the lands and houses
herein before devised during her natural life and I also nominate
constitute and appoint her my said wife Jane Caley whole and sole executrix
and residuary legatee of this my last will and of all the rest residue and
remainder of my goods, chattels, and effects of what kind or nature soever.
In witness hereof I hereunto subscribed my name as and for my last will and
testament this 21st day of June 1839.

At a Chapter court holden in Ramsey on the 28th day of May 1841.
Jane Caley the executrix in the foregoing will named is sworn in court in
form of law well and truly to execute and fulfil the last will and
testament of Patrick Caley deceased to pay all his just debts and
legacies so far forth as the goods will extend and the law bind her, and
to do all other acts and deeds pertaining to the office of executrix
according to law. And to these ends she has given pledges namely John
Corlett Esq and Hugh Gill the witness of the will.

Whereas the Eccl Court of this Diocese hath this day granted probate of the
last will and testament of Patrick Caley late of Lezayre deceased, to Jane
Caley.
And whereas, Capt John Corlett of the Killa in the parish of Lezayre and
Hugh Gill of the parish of Lezayre have agreed to become pledges to the said
Jane Caley.
Therefore, know all men by these present, that we, the said John Corlett and
Hugh Gill hereby bind and oblige ourselves, and our executors, and
administrators, as pledges to the said Jane Caley for the due and faithful
administration of the goods and effects of the said deceased, according
to law. Witness our subscription this 28 day of May 1841.
