I Thomas Kaighin of the parish of Jurby being infirm and aged and calling
to mind the uncertainty of human life do make declare and publish this
my last will and testament in manner following being of sound mind and
memory at the making hereof.
First I commit my soul to God and my body to Christian burial.
Secondly I leave to my two sons Thomas and William Five pounds each as
legacy.
Thirdly I leave to my daughter Elleanor wife of John Kissack five pounds
as legacy.
Fourthly I leave to my granddaughter Ann Kissack daughter of John Kissack
five pounds as legacy.
Fifthly I leave to my daughter Ann wife of John Quayle five shillings as
legacy.
Lastly I leave all the rest residue and remainder of my goods chattels
and effects of every description to my son Robert Kaighin whom I nominate
constitute and appoint whole and sole executor of this my will.
In witness whereof I hereunto subscribed my name this 16th day of July
in the year 1842.

At a Chapter Court holden at Kirk Michael the 31st day of May 1849. Robert
Kaighin sworn executor with pledges John Corlett of Ramsey and John Stephen
of the village in the parish of Ballaugh who have executed a bond to that
effect bearing equal date herewith.
John Kaighin husband of Jane or legatee named in the foregoing will of
Thomas Kaighin of Jurby deceased personally appeared at the Archdeacon's
Registry and acknowledged that he had received and been paid the legacy of
one pound bequeathed his said wife in and by the said will.  And he hereby
exonerates acquits and discharges the executor Robert Kaighin his heirs
executors administrators and assigns of the
said legacy or sum of one pound and of every part thereof.  As witness
his subscription the 17th day of June 1850.

We John Kneale and Ann Kneale alis Kissack of the parish of Bride do
acknowledge that we have received from Robert Kaighin of the parish of Jurby
the sum of five pounds being advanced to us in order the better to enable us
to go to America for which country we now intend to make our departure from
the Isle of Man the five pounds being advanced to us by
the said Robt Kaighin in payment and discharge of a legacy to that
amount left to me the said Ann in and by the last will and testament of
Thomas Kaighin of whose will the said Robt Kaighin is appointed
executor hereby exonerating and discharging the said Robert Kaighin
from all claim or demand on account of the said Thomas Kaighinıs will
after his decease whenever that even takes place.
In witness where we hereunto subscribed our name this 10th day of
March 1845.

Thomas Kaighin a legatee named in the last will and testament of
Thomas Kaighin of the parish of Jurby deceased - appeared at the
Archdeacon's Registry and acknowledge to have received and been paid
the sum of five pounds  amount of a legacy bequeathed to him in said
deceased will.  Also at the  same time and date appeared William Kaighin
another legatee named in  the said will and acknowledge to have received the
sum five pounds bequeathed to him and and by said will. Also
appeared John Kissack husband of Elleanor and acknowledge to have been paid
the sum of five pounds bequeathed to his said wife in and by said
will.  Also at the said time and place appeared John Quayle husband of
Ann and acknowledge to have received the legacy of five shillings bequeathed
to his said wife and by the said last will and testament of
John Kaighin of Jurby deceased and they the said Thomas Kaighin,
William Kaighin, John Kissack, and John Quayle, do hereby severally
discharge exonerate and acquit Robert Kaighin the executor in said will
named his executors, administrators and assigns of the said several legacies
and of every part hereof.
As witness therein several signature or marks hereunto affixed this
fourteenth day of March one thousand eight hundred and fifty four (1854).
