40 Malew
In the name of God Amen.
I Ann Maddrell alias Taggart of Grenaby in the parish of Malew being of
sound mind memory and understanding at the making hereof but considering the
uncertainty of this life do make this my last will and testament in manner
following viz:
I commit my soul to God and my body to a Christian burial at the discretion
of my executor hereinafter named.
I give and bequeath to my son Robert Maddrell the sum of two pounds
sterling.
I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Maddrell the sum of twenty pounds
sterling.
I give and bequeath to my son George Maddrell the sum of twenty pounds
sterling and the best feather bed together with the remainder of my half of
the household furniture except the remainder of the beds.
It is also my will and desire that the above legacies shall not be paid nor
bear interest till after the death of my executor and also that the
furniture shall remain with my executor during his natural life.
And I do hereby nominate and appoint my husband John Maddrell of
Grenaby whole and sole executor residuary legatee of all the rest residue
and remainder of my goods chattels and effects of every nature and kind
whatsoever and wheresoever. Hereby revoking and making void all and every
former will or wills by me heretofore made and executed.
And I do declare this to be my last will and testament in witness
whereof I the said Ann Maddrell have hereunto subscribed my name or cause my
mark to be thereunto affixed. This the twenty sixth day of December one
thousand eight hundred and forty eight 1848.
