In the name of God Amen.
I John Gick of Ballavartin in the parish of Santan and at present weak in
body but of sound disposing mind and memory at the making hereof do
published this to be my last will and testament in manner following.
First I commit my soul to God and my body to a Christian burial at the
discretion of my executor hereinafter mentioned.
Secondly I leave and bequeath unto my son Thomas all and singular my
cash and effects subject nevertheless to the following payment.
Thirdly I leave and bequeath unto my son Edward the sum of two pounds.
Fourthly I leave and bequeath unto my son James the sum of two
shillings and six pence.
Fifthly I leave and bequeath unto my daughter Catharine the sum of two
shillings and six pence.
Sixthly I leave and bequeath unto my daughter Esther the sum of two
shillings and six pence.
Seventhly I leave and bequeath unto my daughter Margaret the sum of two
shillings and six pence.
Eighthly I leave and bequeath unto Eleanor Gick Green daughter of John Green
Cabinet Maker Douglas the sum of three pounds payable to her
when at the age of fourteen years.
Ninthly I leave and bequeath unto Eleanor Gick daughter of Edward Gick
the sum of two pounds.
Tenthly I leave and bequeath unto James Gick (son of James Gick) the
sum of two pounds.
Eleventhly I leave and bequeath unto every claimer the sum of six pence
each.
Lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my son Thomas Gick executor of this
my last will and testament and do hereby revoke make null and void
all other wills by me at any time heretofore made.
As witness my subscription this the thirteenth day of May one thousand eight
hundred and fifty 1850.

At a Chapter Court holden at Douglas on the 18th day of October 1850. Thomas
Gick the executor sworn with pledges Thomas Breddon of Ballaquigggin Santan
and John Wade Cowin Oatlands Santan.
