Ballaugh 1850 48 This is the last will and testament of me John Keig of Ballacorraige in the parish of Ballaugh. I leave and bequeath unto every person who could otherwise claim any interest in my estate one shilling legacy. I leave devise and bequeath unto my wife Mary Keig all my houses lands and real estate wheresoever situated during her natural lifetime and subject to her life interest therein. I leave devise and bequeath unto my son William Keig his heirs and assigns my half or moiety of those dwelling houses, outhouses, lands, and premises called and commonly known by the name of Croit e Quark and situate in the parish of Ballaugh. Also my half or moiety of those lands and premises called and know by the name of Croit ne Halley and situate in the parish of Ballaugh. I leave devise and bequeath unto my son Thomas Keig his heirs and assigns my half or moiety of two fields or enclosures of land called "Thalloo Bill Nick" being part of the estate of Ballacorraige in the parish of Ballaugh and bounded on the north by the Clerk's Glebe on the East by the highway which leads from the Old Church of Ballaugh toward Gob e Volley on the south by other parts of Ballacorriage on the west by the high road which leads from Ballaugh Old Church to Ballaugh Brewery. Also my half or moiety of those two other fields or enclosures of land part of Ballacorraige aforesaid called "Magher Moar Pharick Ballahesson" and bounded on the north by other lands belonging to me on the estate by the lands of Thomas Gawne on the south by the estate of Ballacain and on the west by the high road which leads from the Old Church toward Gob e Volley. I leave devise and bequeath unto my son Robert Keig his heirs and assigns my half or moiety of those houses lands and premises called "Faaie Bill Nick" being part of the estate of Ballacorraige situate in the parish of Ballaugh aforesaid and bounded on the north and south by the lands of Robert Quine on the east by the high road which leads from Ballaugh Old Church to Ballaugh Brewery and on the west by the estate of Ballabeg and Coarvalla. Also my half of a field or enclosure of lands part of Ballacorraige situate in the parish of Ballaugh aforesaid and bounded on the north by a quarterland road on the east by the high road which leads from the Old Church to Gob e Volley on the south by this lands herein before devised to Thos Keig and on the west by the Clerk's Glebe. Also all and singular my half or moiety of two fields or enclosures of land part of the estate of Ballacorraige aforesaid and bounded on the north by the high road leading from Sag e oraddan to the Curragh on the east by the lands of Thomas Gawne on the south by lands herein before devised to Thomas Keig and on the west by the high road leading from the Old Church to Gob e Volley. I leave and bequeath unto my daughter Isabella Killip sixty pounds legacy. I leave and bequeath unto my granddaughter Margaret Keig daughter of my son William Keig and Margaret Hardie the sum of twenty pounds legacy. I leave and bequeath unto my granddaughter Eliza Jane Keig daughter of my son John Keig and Elizabeth Kelly twenty pounds legacy payable to her if she attains the age of twenty one years and not otherwise. I leave devise and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of my goods and chattels rights credits and personal estate unto my wife Mary Keig and I nominate constitute and appoint my said wife Mary Keig whole and sole executrix of this my last will or wills by me at any time heretofore made and declaring this to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name this twenty third day of November one thousand eight hundred and forty seven. John Keig Signed published and declared by the testator as and for his last will and testament in our presence who in his presence and at his request and in presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses. Clucas At a Chapter Court holden at Kirk Michael on the 30th day of May 1850 - Mary Keig sworn executrix with pledges William Killip and Thomas Keig Mary Mylechraine widow a legatee named in the foregoing will of John Keig of Ballacorraige in the parish of Ballaugh deceased personally appeared at the Episcopal Registry and acknowledged that she had received from and paid by Thomas Keig executor of Mary Keig who was executrix of said John Keig the full and just sum of sixty pounds sterling being the amount of the legacy bequeathed her by the foregoing will of her father. And she hereby forever exonerates acquits and discharges the said Thos Keig executor of Mary Keig his heirs executors administrators and assigns of the said legacy of sixty pounds and of every part thereof as witness her subscription this 7th day of April 1852. Brown D ER William Killip husband of Isabella a legatee named in the foregoing will of John Keig late of Ballacorraige in the parish of Ballaugh deceased personally appeared at the Episcopal Registry and acknowledged that he had received from and paid by the hands of Thomas Keig Executor of Mary Keig who was executrix of said John Keig the full and just sum of sixty pounds sterling being the amount of the legacy bequeathed his said wife in and by said will. And he the said William Killip hereby forever exonerates acquits and discharges the said Thomas Keig his heirs executors administrators and assigns of the said legacy of sixty pounds and of every part thereof.
