1     German

In the name of God, Amen. We JOHN TAGGART and ISABELLA TAGGART 
of the Town of Peel being of sound mind memory and understanding 
but calling to mind the uncertainty of this life do make this 
our joint will and testament in manner and form following. We 
leave devise and bequeath to our DAUGHTER ISABELLA TAGGART the 
whole of the dwelling house and concerns situate in the big street 
in the Town of Peel wherein we now live to be possessed by her 
at and upon the death of the survivor of us but not sooner and 
to be held occupied and enjoyed by her for and during the term 
of her natural life but upon her decease then the said dwelling 
house and concerns shall become the property of our DAUGHTER 
ELIZABETH and her Heirs forever. We leave and bequeath to our 
said DAUGHTER ISABELLA the one half of the whole of our goods 
and effects with the best bed and bedding to be possessed by 
her upon the death of the survivor of us for and during the term 
of her natural life and upon her decease then the said goods and 
effects bed and bedding to become the property of our DAUGHTER 
ELIZABETH.  We leave and bequeath the other half of our goods 
and effects to our SON JOHN TAGGART to be possessed by him upon 
the death of the survivor of us.  We leave and bequeath to our 
said two DAUGHTERS ELIZABETH AND ISABELLA equally between them 
the whole of the wearing apparel belonging to me the said ISABELLA 
TAGGART.  And we do hereby nominate constitute and appoint our 
beloved DAUGHTER ELIZABETH whole and sole Executrix and residuary 
Legatee of this our joint well and testament after the death of 
the survivor of us hereby barring all other claimants therein 
with six pence legacy and revoking all other wills by us made 
and declaring this to be our last Will.  In Witness whereof we 
have hereunto subscribed our Names this twenty second day of 
January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and 
thirty five 1835.

AT A COURT HOLDEN at Douglas the 26th May 1837
ELIZABETH CRELLIN is sworn Executrix in form of Law 
(JOHN CRELLIN HER HUSBAND being off the Island) and 
hath given pledges for the payment of debts and legacies 
namely JOHN TAGGART of the parish of German for the 
sum of thirty pounds British.

TO THE WORSHIPFUL THOMAS ARTHUR CORLETT 
Vicar General &c &c &c, 
The humble petition of DANIEL SHIMMIN and WILLIAM CORLETT 
of the Town of Peel, 
Sheweth 
That JOHN TAGGART of the Town of Peel departed this 
life in the year 1850 indebted unto your petitioners 
and there has not yet any person been appointed to 
administer his estate; Wherefore your petitioners pray 
a hearing of this petition and that your Worship may 
be pleased to appoint and swear the Sumner of the 
parish of German or some other proper person Administrator 
in Trust of the estate of the said JOHN TAGGART and 
your petitioners will pray &c.       

ORDERED THAT THIS PETITION do come or to be heard 
at the Eccleastical Court to be holden at KK Michael 
on Thursday the 28th day of October instant whereof 
all proper parties and persons to have due notice.

AT A SPECIAL ECCLESIASTICAL COURT HELD in 
Ramsey the 21st December 1852
JOHN CRELLIN of the Town of Ramsey having made oath on 
the holy Evangelists that he was well acquainted with 
the manner and character of handwriting of John Quane 
and William Kinley Esq., both deceased who are two 
subscribing witnesses to the foregoing paper writing 
purporting to be the Wills of JOHN TAGGART AND ELIZABETH 
TAGGART deceased and which appears to have been proved 
the 26th May 1837 at a Court held in Douglas and that 
the signature of John Quane and William Kinley as xxxx 
thereto would pass on him as their proper handwriting.  
And also that the Testator JOHN TAGGART survived the 
Testatrix ISABELLA and only departed this life about 
two years ago Administration of all and singular the 
goods and effects of the said Testators is therefore 
decreed in favour of JOHN CRELLIN THE HUSBAND OF THE 
EXECUTRIX who is sworn well and truly to administer 
the same according to law to pay all just debts 
legacies and funeral expenses of the Testators so far 
forth as the goods will extend and the law bind him 
and to return a full true and perfect inventory of 
the same with an accurate account of his acts and 
proceedings in the Premises to the Episcopal Registry 
when thereunto lawfully require and to these ends he 
has given pledges namely JAMES TAGGART AND JAMES 
CRELLING who have executed the usual bond in presence 
of the Court.

TO THE REVD J.B. HARTWELL Vicar General &c &c &c, 
The humble Petition of JOHN CRELLIN AND ELIZABETH HIS WIFE, 
Sheweth, 
That ISABELLA TAGGART MOTHER OF your Petitioner ELIZABETH 
some time ago departed this Life first having made his will 
and thereof appointed your Petitioner ELIZABETH Executrix; 
That your Petitioners are desirous to have the said will 
proved and received upon record; Wherefore your Petitioners 
pray a hearing hereof and that the Petitioner ELIZABETH 
may be sworn Executrix un the said Will and they will pray &c. 
W. Kinley for Petitioners.     

ORDERED THAT THIS PETITION do come to be heard at a Court 
to  be held at Douglas on Friday next whereof all parties 
to have notice. Given this 21 May 1877. J.B. Hartwell.
