27 Marown In the name of God Amen. I Elinor Hampton of Ballergey in the parish of KK Marown knowing and considering the uncertainty and fraility of this mortal life but being at present of sound mind, memory, and understanding do make publish and declare this to be my last will and testament in manner following, that is to say, First and principally I commit my soul to God and my body to decent Christian burial. Secondly I leave and bequeath unto my dear daughter Margaret Jane Hampton [Eleanor Jane Hampton is who they mean] the sum of one hundred pounds sterling likewise my half of three houses in the town of Douglas, namely one in Big Well Street, one in Queen Street and one in Hanover Street which said houses were purchased by my husband Robert Hampton and myself and more particularly described in the said Deed of Sales likewise my half of a house and small field which my said husband Robert Hampton and myself purchased from Capt Daniel Wilson of Farm Hill or Ballaquirk now deceased and more particularly described in the said Deed of Sale and likewise a feather bed, bedstead and clothes and all my apparel and my said daughter Margaret Jane Hampton is to receive the interest of the hundred pounds immediately after my decease but is not to receive the rents issues or profits of the houses aforesaid until she arrives at the age of twenty one years. Thirdly and lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my beloved husband Robert Hampton whole and sole executor and residuary legatee of this my last will and testament of all the rest of my goods, chattels, and effects moveable or immoveable of what kind or description whatever or wheresoever situated barring all claimants with two shillings and six pence legacy. As witness my name this sixth day of January one thousand eight hundred and fifty one.
