67         Ballaugh
This is the last will and testament of me Mary Keig of Ballacorraige in
the parish of Ballaugh widow.
I leave and bequeath unto any person who could otherwise claim any interest
in my estate one shilling legacy
I leave devise and bequeath unto my son William Keig his heirs and
assigns my half or moiety of those dwelling houses, outhouses, lands,
and premises called and commonly known by the name of Croit E Quark
and situate in the parish of Ballaugh also my half or moiety of those
lands and premises called and known by the name of Croit ny Holley and
situate in the parish of Ballaugh subject however to and charged with
the payment of thirty shillings per annum to my daughter Mary
Mylechraine during her lifetime to become payable when the said William Keig
his heirs or assigns shall possess the said lands houses and
premises.
I leave devise and bequeath unto my son Thomas Keig his heirs and
assigns my half or moiety of two fields or enclosures of land called
Thalloo Bill Nick being part of the estate of Ballacorraige in the parish
of Ballaugh and bounded on the north by the Clerk's Glebe on the east by the
highway which leads from the Old Church of Ballaugh towards Gob E Volley on
the south by other parts of Ballacorraige and on the west by
the high road which lead from Ballaugh Old Church to Ballaugh Brewery. Also
my half or moiety of two other fields or enclosures of land part of
Ballacorraige aforesaid called Magher Moar Pharick Ballahesson and bounded
on the north by other lands belonging unto me on the east by the lands of
Thomas Gawne on the South by the estate of Ballacain and on the west by the
high road which leads from the Old Church to Gob E Volley
also one half of my share or moiety of a field or enclosure of land part of
Ballacorraige situate in the parish of Ballaugh aforesaid and bounded on
the north by a quarterland road on the east by the high road which leads
from the Old Church toward Gob E Volley on the south by the lands
hereinbefore devised to the said Thomas Keig and on the west by the Clerk's
Glebe also my half or moiety of the Barn and -------- Mill
thereon erected the same being part of the lands called Faaie Bill Nick
being part of the estate of Ballacorraige aforesaid and bounded on the south
and west by the lands of Robert Quine on the north by other parts
of the said Faaie Bill Nick and on the east by the premises of the said
Thomas Keig.
I leave bequeath and devise unto my son Robert Keig his heirs and
assigns my half or moiety of those houses and lands called "Faaie Bill
Nick" save and except that part hereinbefore devised and bequeath unto my
son Thomas Keig the same being part of the estate of Ballacorraige aforesaid
and bounded on the north and south by the lands of Robert Quine on the east
by the high road which leads from Ballaugh Old Church to Ballaugh Brewery
and on the west by the estate of Ballabeg and Corvalla also one half of my
share or moiety of a field or enclosure of land part of Ballacorraige
situate in the parish of Ballaugh aforesaid and bounded on
the north by a quarterland road on the west by the high road which leads
from the Old Church toward Gob E Volley on the south by the lands herein
before devised to Thomas Keig and  on the west by the Clerk's Glebe also all
and singular my half or moiety of two fields or enclosures of land
part of Ballacorraige aforesaid and bounded on the north by the road leading
from Lag e Viaddan to the Curragh on the  east by the lands of Thos Gawne on
the south by the lands hereinbefore devised to Thos Keig and on the west by
the high road leading from the Old Church towards
Gob E Volley subject however to and charged with the payment of thirty
pounds  viz Ten pounds to each of my daughters Mary Mylechraine,
Isabella Killip and Ann Cleator to become payable when the said Robert
Keig his heirs or assigns shall possess the aforesaid devised premises if
they shall then be living and not otherwise.  I also leave and bequeath
unto my said son Robert Keig the Cellan cupboard, dressar, and American
Clock as legacy.
I leave and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Mylechraine ten pounds one half
of my wearing apparel and a feather bed and bedding as legacy.
I leave and bequeath unto my daughter Isabella Killip twenty pounds one half
of my wearing apparel a feather bed and bedding and the best Mahogany table
as legacy.
I leave and bequeath unto my grand daughter Margt Keig daughter of my son
William Keig by Margt Hardie the sum of five pounds legacy.
I leave and bequeath unto my grand daughter Eliza Jane Keig daughter of my
son John Keig and Elizabeth Kelly five pounds payable to her if she be
living at twenty one years of age and not otherwise.
I leave devise and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of my
goods and chattels, rights, credits, and personal estate unto my son Thomas
Keig and I hereby nominate constitute and appoint the said
Thomas Keig whole and sole executor of this my last will and testament
hereby revoking all former will or wills by me at any time heretofore
made and declaring this to be my last will and testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name this twenty seventh
day of November one thousand eight hundred and fifty.

Signed published and declared by the testatrix as and for her last will
and testament in our presence who at her request and in her presence and in
presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.

Ramsey the 25th April 1851 Thomas Keig sworn executor with pledges Robert
Quine and Wm Killip .

Mary Mylechraine widow a legatee named in the foregoing will of Mary
Keig decease personally appeared at Archdeacons Registry and acknowledged
that she had been paid the sum of ten pounds and rec'd half the testatrixes
wearing apparel being part of the legacy bequeathed her
in and by said will and she hereby forever exonerates acquits and discharges
the executor Thomas Keig his heirs  executors administrators and assigns of
the said sum of ten pounds and of the half of said wearing apparel.
As witness her subscription this 7th day of April 1852.

The said Mary Mylecharaine widow also acknowledged at the same time
and place as above that she had been paid by and received from the hands of
Robert Kieg the sum of ten pounds being her share of the sum of thirty
pounds made chargeable on certain lands devised to said Robt Keig   and
by said foregoing will and she hereby forever acquits and discharges the
said lands and the said Robert Keig from all liability on account of said
sum of ten pounds.
As witness her subscription this the 7th day of April 1852.

Robert Keig a legatee named in the foregoing will of Mary Keig deceased
personally appeared at the Archdeacon's Registry and acknowledged that he
had rec'd form the executors the cupboard, dressar and American Clock
bequeathed him in and by said will and hereby forever exonerates acquits and
discharges the executor Thos Keig of the same and of every part thereof.
As witness his subscription this 7th day of April 1852.

William Killip husband of Isabella a legatee named in the foregoing will
of Mary Keig late of Ballacorraige in the parish of Ballaugh deceased
personally appeared at the Archdeacon's Registry and acknowledged that he
had been paid the legacy of twenty pounds sterling and received the
one half of the testatrixes wearing apparel a feather bed and bedding and
the best Mahogany table bequeath his said wife in and by said will by and
from the hands of Thomas Keig executor of said Mary Keig and he hereby
forever exonerates acquits and discharges the said executor of said legacy
and of every part thereof.
As witness his subscription  this 7th day of April 1852.  William Killip

William Killip husband of Isabella named in the foregoing will of Mary
Keig  at the time and place above written acknowledged that he had been paid
by and from the hands of Robert Keig the sum of ten pounds sterling being
his said wife's share of the sum of thirty pounds made chargeable
on certain lands devised to said Robt Keig in and by said foregoing will
and he  hereby forever acquits and discharges the said lands and the said
Robert Kieg from all liability on account of said sum of ten pounds.
As witness his subscription this  7 day of April 1852.

By virtue of Vicar General Corlett orders upon the petition of Thomas
Keig dated the 12th April I have charged William Keig, Robert Keig, and Mary
Mylecraine to appear at court to be holden in Ramsey on Friday next as next
of kin of their mother Mary Keig deceased this the 19th April 1851.

Also he acknowledged he had been paid by Robert Kieg the sum of ten pounds
sterling for his wife Isabella same date and signature.
