39 Malew In the name of God Amen. I John Leyland of Castletown being weak in body but of sound disposing mind memory and understanding and calling to mind the uncertainty of this mortal and transitory life and being minded and desirous to settle my worldly affairs do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following hereby revoking and rendering negatory and void all other and former wills or wills by me heretofore made or executed. I commit my soul to God and my body to Christian burial. Leave devise and bequeath to my brother Daniel Leyland with whom I have for many years resided as a small token but just tribute of my regard and esteem and to the heirs and assigns of him the said Daniel Leyland two dwelling houses and premesies in Mill Street in the said town my property with the yards easements and appurtenances to the same respectively belonging together with a house and premises in Queen Mill Street in the said town my property occupied and tenanted by James Tennant with the yard easement and appurtenances to the same belonging to be possessed by him the said Daniel Leyland from and immediately after my decease and I do also nominate constitute and appoint him the said Daniel Leyland whole and sole executor and residuary legatee of this my will. Looney David Gibson At an Eccl Court held in Castletown 13 Jun 1851 Daniel Leyland the executor was sworn with pledges being the witness Samuel M. Looney and Thomas Schofield We the undersigned being the next of kin of the late John Leyland do authorize th bearer to consent to the will of the said John Leyland being received upon court record at the Eccl Court at Castletown this day and the burden of the executing of the said will committed to Daniel Leyland the brother of the said John Leyland who is the executor and residuary legatee therein named this 13 June 1851.
