In the name of God Amen, I William Hannah …….
of the Parish of Kirk Michael (Butcher) considering
the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound
mind memory and understanding at the making hereof
do make this my last Will and Testament in
manner and form following: First I commend
my soul to God and my body to Christian burial.
Secondly I leave and bequeath unto my son James
Hannah his executors administrators or assigns all my
right title and interest in and to the unexpired term or
goodwill of a lease granted to me by Patrick Nelson
of certain parcels of the Estate of Balla Rhenney in the
said parish dated the 22nd of June 1847 subject to
the annual rent payable for the same and the
conditions therein expressed. I also leave and bequeath
to the said James Hannah his executors administrators
or assigns all my right title and interest in and to the
unexpired term or goodwill of a lease granted to me
by my son Richard Hannah of a parcel of land in
the said parish called the “Breggan” part of the quarterland
of Lougham-my-madjey, and bearing date the eleventh
day of March, One thousand eight hundred and forty
five subject to the conditions and to the payment of
the annual rent in the said lease mentioned and
also subject to the payment of one shilling per week
so long as he remains or continues in the possession
of the said premises called the Breggan in lieu of the
maintenance of an illegitimate child of my said
son Richard Hannah which I had guaranteed
the payment of. Thirdly, I leave and bequeath
to my said son James Hannah whatever Horse and
Mare a Cart and Harness, Plough and Harrows
which may belong to me at the time of my decease. Fourthly
I leave and bequeath unto my daughter Jane Hannah
whatever cow may belong to me at the time of my
death, also my feather bed bedstead bed clothes and
Hangings whereon I usually sleep. Fifthly I leave and
bequeath unto my other children John Hannah, Anne
the wife of Thomas Caine , Richard Hannah, William
Hannah and Philip Hannah each a legacy of five
shillings sterling, And lastly I nominate constitute
and appoint my son James Hannah and ^daughter Jane
Hannah aforesaid and the survivor of them Co-executors
or Executor and Executrix of this my last Will and
Testament, and also Residuary legatees or legatees of
the whole of the remainder of my Goods
Credits Chattels and Effects and personal Estate
whatsoever and wheresoever. In testimony whereof
I have hereunto subscribed my name this first
------------day of December in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty one.

the word “daughter” in the 2nd or last page being first inserted or interlined.

At a Ecct. Court held in Ramsey the 12th Nov.
1852--
John Hadden and Edward Cannell the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing
paper writing purporting to be the last Will and Testment of Wm. Hannah
deceased having made oath on the Holy Evangelists that the
Testator when of sound disposing mind and executed
this same as and for his last Will and Testament in their presence James
Hannah and Jane Hannah the Executors are therefore sworn well and
truly to fulfil and execute the same according the law, to pay all
just debts legacies and funeral expenses of the Testator as far
forth as the Goods will extend and the law bind them and to return
to the Episcopal Registry a full true and perfect inventory of
the same with an accurate account of their acts and proceedings
in the Premises when there unto lawfully required and to these
ends they have given pledges namely John Hannah and John Thos.
Cannell who have executed the usual Bond in presence of the Court.

I John Hannah one of the legatees named in the will
of William Hannah dated 1 December 1851
acknowledge to have received from James Hannah one
