The Last Will and Testament
Of Jane Hannah als. Cannell
Wife of William Hannah sen.
of the
Village and Parish of
Kirk Michael
Isle of Mann
April 1849

Michael
In the name of God, Amen.
I Jane Hannah alias Cannell wife of William Hannah
Senior of the Village and Parish of Michael in the Isle of
Man, being weak in body, but of perfectly sound mind, mem-
ory and understanding do make this my last Will
and testament, and hereby revoking all Wills or Will by me
heretofore made.
I commit my soul to Almighty God and my Body to
Christian burial.
I leave devise and bequeath to my son John Hannah one
Pound.
I leave devise and bequeath to my son William Hannah
one Pound.
I leave devise and bequeath to my son Richard Hannah
one Pound.
I leave devise and bequeath to my son James Hannah
Fifteen Pounds and one third of the Web of Woollen Cloth
The thread of which is now ready to be sent to be woven.
I leave devise and bequeath to my son Philip Hannah
one Pound and one third of the Web of Woollen Cloth
the thread of which is now ready to be woven.
I leave devise and bequeath to my daughter Ann wife
of Thomas Caine joiner, my spinning wheel and the sum
of Five Pounds.
I leave devise and bequeath to my daughter Jane Hannah
Fifteen Pounds, also the bedstead, bed, bedclothes and
Hangings, belonging to the bed, in which she at present
sleeps and also one third of the Web of Woollen Cloth
The thread from which is now ready to be woven.
I also direct that none of the foregoing legacies are
To be paid until the death or intermarriage of my Executor.
Lastly I hereby nominate and appoint my Husband
William Hannah senior Executor of this my Will and
Also residuary legatee. In witness hereof I have here
Unto subsrcribed my name this 14th day of April
in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred
and forty nine.

At an Ecct. Court held in Ramsey the 12th Nov. 1852.
John Rodgers one of the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing paper
Writing purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Jane Hannah
Deceased having made oath on the Holy Evangelists that the
Testatrix when of sound mind duly signed and executed the same
As and for her last Will in presence of Thomas Cowen and the
……..  and Wm. Hannah the Executor being since dead but
just having made his will and thereof appointed James
Hannah and Jane Hannah his Exors the said James Hannah
and Jane Hannah are therefore sworn well and truly to fulfil
and execute the same according to law, to pay all just
debts legacies and funeral expenses of the testatrix so far
forth as the Goods will extend and the law bind them and to return
to the Archdeacons Registry a full true and perfect inventory
of the same with an accurate account of their acts and
proceedings in the premises when there unto lawfully
required and to  these ends they have given pledges namely
John Hannah and John T. Cannell who have executed the usual
Bond in presence of the Court.

I John Hannah a Legatee named in the foregoing
Will of Jane Hannah of Michael dec. do hereby
own and acknowledges to have been paid by
James Hannah the surviving administrator
to the said Will …… the sum of
one pound and all interest due thereon
The amount of the legacy bequeathed me
in and by the foregoing will of my Mother
and do hereby exonerate release acquit and
discharge the said surviving Adms. his Exors.
And Admons and the estate of the dec.
of and from any further claim and demand
on account of my aforesaid legacy and of
every part thereof. And do by these presents
cancel the same as Witness my
Subscription this 5 day of April 1870.

Whereas the Ecclesiastical Court of this Diocese hath this day granted  Probate to the will of Jane Hannah of Michael deceased, to 
James Hannah and Jane Hannah Exors of the Will of Wm. Hannah who was Exor of the will of Hane Hannah dec.
And whereas John T. Cannell of Berk in the Parish of Michael and John Hannah of the Village in the Parish of Michael have agreed to 
become pledges to the said Jas. Hannah and Jane Hannah for the due administration of the said Estate according to law.
Therefore know all men by these Presents, that we, the said John T. Cannel and John Hannah hereby bind and oblige ourselves and our 
Executors and Administrators, as pledges to the said Jas. Hannah and Jane Hannah for the due and faithful admistration of the goods
And effects of the said deceased according to law. And in their default we bind ourselves and our Executors and Adminstrators to be 
answerable to all parties interested in the said Estate or the Administration thereof.
Witness our subscriptions 12th day of Nov. 1852
