In the name of God Amen
I Matthias Cain of Kirk Marown and lately schoolmaster in Baldwin
school house being of sound and disposing mind memory and
understanding do ordain and appoint this my last will and testament as
follows:
First I commit my soul to God who gave it and my body unto a decent
Christian burial.
I leave and bequeath unto my daughter Isabella Caine now Isabella
Cowley the sum of ten pounds she being the wife of James, late miller, here
who is now beyond seas if the said James Cowley or herself
Isabella Cowley shall call to the Isle of Mann for it and give a perfect
receipt for the same otherwise he is not to give it to any other person to
pay it by the net sum without no interest.
I leave and bequeath unto my granddaughter Isabella Cain daughter of my son
Thomas Cain who is now dead all and singular my best bed and all hangings my
feather bed feather bolster and a set of bed clothes thereunto belonging
that is the whole as I use it myself and the sum of
five pounds to be given her above the same and lastly I nominate and appoint
my son Matthias Cain to be whole and sole executor of this my
last will and testament and residuary legatee of the rest of my goods
and effects moveable and immovable be the same of what kind name or nature
soever as witness my subscription this the fourth day of July one thousand
eight hundred and fifty one.

At a Chapter Court holden at Douglas on the 28th day of May 1852.
John Clucas and Matthias Creer the subscribing witnesses to the
foregoing paper writing purporting to be the will of Matthias Cain
deceased having made oath on the Holy Evangelists that said Matthias Caine
the testator when of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding duly
signed and executed the same in their presence as and for his last will and
testament
Matthias Caine the executor in said will named is therefore sworn well
and truly to fulfil and execute the same according to law to pay just
debts and legacies and funeral expences of said testator so far forth as his
goods and effects with an accurate account of his acts and proceedings in
the premises when thereunto lawfully required and to
these ends he hath given pledges namely John Kelly and Matthias Creer
who have executed the usual bond to that effect in presence of the court.

Know all men by these presents that I Isabella Cain do hereby
acknowledge to have received from Matthais Cain executor of the last
will of Matthias Cain as dated the 4th May 1853  as I become a receiver
of a legacy bequeath to me therefore I order the same to be cancelled on the
Registry this the 21st day of May 1853.

Isabella Caine the executing party to the foregoing deed who has been
identified to me on the oath of Henry Kay of the parish of Patrick Farmer
acknowledge the same to be her proper act and deed
