Vicar General and chancellor of this Isle –
The humble petition of Jane Kaneen of the parish of Andreas
Shewith
That your petitioners late husband John Kaneen
of Balaslig in this said parish departed this
life some time ago having first duly made and
published his last will and testament as ???
which he appointed your petitioners his Executrix –
Wherefore your petitioners prays
a hearing hereof and that your
Worship may be pleased to grant
probate of the Will of the said
John Kaneen unto your petitioners
in due form of law and
she with pray –
For this petitioners
Ordered that this petition do come on to be heard
at a court to be holden at Ramsey on Saturday next
whereof all proper parties to have due notice.

At an Eccl Court held in Ramsey the 15th May 1852
Upon hearing this petition by consent of parties
and upon examining John Corlett one of the
subscribing witnesses to the will of John Kaneen
decd I am of opinion that the due execution of the
sd paper written by the Testator has been proved
and that probate thereof ought to be granted as
prayed for and the same is therefore hereby so
ordered and adjudicated accordingly.

This is declared to be the last will and testament
of us John Kaneen and Jane Kaneen of Ballaslig in
the parish of KK Andreas jointly made published
and declared this 10th day of March 1848 being of
sound mind and memory at the making and publishing hereof.
First - we commit our Souls to God and our bodies to Christian burial –
Secondly - we leave to our son John two shillings and
six pence and to our daughter Jane wife of William
Christian two shillings and six pence they have
already had sums of money advanced to them.
Thirdly - We leave to or sons Daniel, William and
Charles Patrick Kaneen the sum of Fifty pounds
each to be paid to them and each of them at
and after the Decease of the survivor of us
as legacy.
Fourthly - We leave to our daughters Elleanor,
Marjory, Ann, Catharine, Sarah, Sarah, Maria,
Elizabeth and Louisa the sum of fifty pounds
each to be paid to them and each of them at
and after the decease of the survivor of us
as legacy.
Lastly - We leave the either to the other who
may be the longest liver or survivor the, all
the rest, residue and remainder of our property
of goods chattels and effects of what kind or
nature, soever, the survivor to have the interest
of the whole of our money during his or her
natural life, and we nominate constitute and
appoint such survivor absolute and sole executor,
or Executrix of this our joint will.
In testimony whereof we herewith subscribe our names
this 10th day of March 1848.

John Corlett one of the subscribing witneses to the
foregoing paper writing purporting to be the last
will and testament of John Kaneen later decd having
made oath on the holy Evangelists that the dd
Testator when of sound mind duly signed and executed
the same as and for his call with in presence of the
deponts and Edwd Gale the other subscribing witness
Jane Kaneen the executrix therein named, is therefore
sworn well and truly to fulfil and execute the dd will
according to law to pay all just debts legacies
and funeral expenses of the Testator to pay for the
as the goods will extend and the law bind her and to
return to the Archdiocese Registry of this Diocese
a full true and perfect Inventory of the said Estate
with an accurate account of her acts and her undertak?
In the premises when thereunto lawfully required
and to these ends she has given pledges namely
Wm Carmode and Thomas Clarke who have executed this
usual Bond in presence of the court.

Know all men by these presents that I William Kaneen
of Ballakeelenden in the parish of Bride hereby own
and acknowledge to have received of my mother Jane
Kaneen executrix of the last will and testament of
my father John Kaneen late of the parish of Andreas
deceased the sum of fifty pounds being in full payment
and discharge of a legacy bequeathed to me in and by
the last will and testament of the said John Kaneen
decd I do therefore hereby desire and request that
the said legacy be and stand cancelled on record.
Also witness my name this second day of April One
thousand eight hundred and fifty-three.

of Andreas now one of the Executors of Jan Kaneen
who was Executrix of the will of the sd John Kaneen
doth hereby acknowledge that he has received from
Thomas Clarke and William Christian also Executors
of the will of the sd Jane Kaneen the full sum of
fifty pounds sterlg being in discharge of a legacy
bequeathed to him the sd Daniel Kaneen in and by
the last will and testament of his father the sd
John Kaneen decsd the 10th day of March 1848 recd
the sd Daniel Kaneen doth acquit release and discharge
the Exetx of the sd Jane Kaneen as well as the exetcr
of the sd John Kaneen from all claim as demand
under the will of his father John Kaneen and he
doth desire and direct that the sd will of John
Kaneen so far as excpects the sd legacy be and
stand canceled on the Registry witness his
subscription hereby this 14th day of December 1860.

Kaneen, son of John Kaneen late of the parish of
Andreas doth acknowledge that he has received from
Daniel Kaneen Thomas Clarke and William Christian
Executors of the will of Jane Kaneen who was
Executrix of the Will of John Kaneen deceased the
sum of fifty Pounds Sterls being in full discharge
of the amt of a legacy left and bequeathed to the
sd Charles P. Kaneen by his father the sd John Kaneen
in and by his last Will and Testament dated the
10th day of March 1848 – And the sd Charles P. Kaneen
doth acquit release and discharge the sd Daniel Kaneen
Thomas Clarke and William Christian and each and
every of them from all further claim or demand under
the will of the sd John Kaneen my father, and he

Will of John Kaneen afsd hearing date the 10th day of
March 1848 the full sum of Fifty pounds sterling being
the amount of a legacy left to the sd Elizabeth Kaneen ??
and by her sd father’s will, and the said Elizabeth
Kaneen doth hereby acquit release and discharge them
the sd Daniel Kaneen ??? William Christian and Thomas
Clarke the sd Exectrs Admons and apizers from all
further claim or demand under the will of the sd John
