Joint Will of John Hogg and Eleanor his Wife – of the Town of Douglas –
	We leave all our property of the Lake Brewery with the Dwelling House 
we live in the Yard and appurtenances with two Dwelling Houses in Bigwell 
Street and a Dwelling House near the Brewery on the North West and that 
Dwelling House now …… ing at Laxey near the Bridge with its appurtenances 
together with all our Stock in trade and our live Stock with Book debts and 
everything belonging to the Brewery concern unto James Milburn and Eliza 
Son of the said Eleanor and Eliza Hogg Daughter of the said John Hogg and 
Eleanor his Wife subject to an Annuity payable to Miss Wilks & M.rs Newton 
the above property to be possessed in the following manner upon the death of 
the first of us James Mylburn is to possess one quarter of the above with one 
fourth part of the said Lake to be carried on as usual and upon the death of 
the longest liver of us the said James Mylburn to have one entire half of the 
said property and effects and the said Eliza Hogg the other half  to hold unto 
them their Heirs and assigns and as long as they can agree we should wish 
them to carry on the Lake for their mutual benefit and further we direct that 
upon the Annuity to Miss Wilks and M.rs Newton ceasing to be paid the said 
James Mylburn and Eliza Hogg are to pay their own two Daughters Catherine 
Hogg and Eleanor Anne Mylburn twenty pounds a year each for the term of 
their Natural lives and those annuities to be a lieu and charge upon the said 
Houses and premises – the longest liver of us to keep the …… parts of the 
said property for his or her life.
	We leave and bequeath unto the said Catherine Hogg Daughter of the 
said John Hogg two Dwelling Houses and premises situate on Harris Terrace 
in this Town of Douglas to hold unto the said Catherine 
Hogg………………….from the death of the longest liver of us but subject to 
the restrictions hereinafter mentioned –
We leave and bequeath unto the said Eleanor Anne Mylburn that Dwelling 
House and premises numbered "ten" situate on Mona Terrace in the said 
Town with the Garden and appurtenances thereunto belonging to be 
possessed by her upon the death of the survivor of us and to hold and assign 
but subject to the restrictions hereinafter mentioned –
We will and direct that in case the any one or all of the said our said 
daughters Eliza Catherine and Eleanor Anne should depart this life unmarried 
the real property that such Daughter became entitled to under our Will shall 
be divided amongst the Survivors of them and the said James Mylburn but 
upon the marriage of any one of our said Daughters the property she became 
entitled to becomes is to be from that time at her own disposal –
	We nominate and appoint the Survivor of us to be our Executor or 
Executrix and residuary Legatee of all our State and Effects not disposed of 
hereby – Witness our names this 11th. twelfth day of September one thousand 
eight hundred and forty nine – (there being two interlineations in the first page 
before signing hereof)
