The humble petition of James Mylchreest, Elizabeth Cain, and William
Mylchreest of the parish of Malew
Sheweth: That your petitioner's brother Robert Mylchreest late of the
parish of Malew farmer sometime in the month of July last departed this life
having first duly made and published his last will and testament in writing
whereof he appointed your petitioner's executors. That your petitioners are
desirous of proving the said will and obtaining probate thereof.
Wherefore your petitioners pray a hearing hereof and that your Worship may
be pleased to grant probate of the will of the said Robert Mylchreest as due
form of law and petitioners will pray.

Ordered that the petition do come on to be heard at a Vicars Court to be
holden at Castletown on Friday next whereof all proper parties are to
have due notice.

24 Mar 1854 Upon hearing this petition in presence of parties or their
advocates and upon examining Henry Caugherty as to the hand writing and
identity of the testator and Thomas Cowin the only witness to his will I
am of opinion the execution thereof has been proved and that probate thereof
ought to be granted as prayed for and the same is therefore hereby so
ordered and decreed accordingly. T. A. Corlett
I hereby authorize an advocate to appear for me at the next Vicar Generals
Court at Douglas or Castletown at the suit of James
Mylchreest, William Mylchreest and Elizabeth Cain and admit to probate
the will of Robert Mylchreest deceased without opposition.

In the name of God.
I Robert Mylchreest of the parish of Malew being of competent mind and
memory and in making this my last will and testimony.
First I leave and bequeath to my brother Wm Mylchreest two shillings
and six pence.
Secondly I leave and bequeath to John Mylchreest Hatter of Castletown
and John Cain Taylor(tailor) all my wearing close excepting my shirts.
Thirdly I leave and bequeath to Wm Fargher Taylor(tailor) of Castletown
a milk cow.
Fourthly I leave and bequeath to Thomas Kermodešs wife of Ballasalla
the sum of three pounds.
Fifthly I leave and bequeath to Maria Mickil the sum of twenty five
pounds with a feather bed and bedding.
Lastly I appoint James Mylchreest my brother and Elizabeth Cain my
sister and William Mylchreest junior of Cross Four Ways my executors over
all my goods moveable and immovable.

We James Mylchreest, William Mylchreest, Junior, and Elizabeth Cain
widow do hereby acknowledge to have received our respective shares or
proportions of the estate of Robert Mylchreest as set forth in the foregoing
and annexed accounts which we hereby acknowledge to be correct as to amount
of estate and payments in respect thereof and to have now finally
distributed the same except the sum of [£]10 or
thereabouts and of executing against Wm Fargher Junior of the Cooil Cam
Malew which has not been recovered but when recovered is to be divided
equally between us.
As witness our subscription this 2d day of Dec 1854.
