56     Bride
This is declared to be the last will and testament of me Jane Tear alias
Goldsmith wife of William Tear of Ballacregga in the parish of KK Bride made
declared and published this 14th day of September in the year
1852, being of sound mind and memory at the making declaring and publishing
hereof.
First I commit my soul to God and my body to Christian burial.
Secondly I leave and bequeath to my daughter Margaret Tear the sum of One
Hundred Pounds as legacy.
Thirdly I leave and bequeath to my daughter Mary Tears the sum of Fifty
pounds as legacy.
Fourthly I leave and bequeath to my daughter Betsy Tear the sum of fifty
pounds as legacy.
Fifthly I leave and bequeath to my son George Tear now abroad and
beyond seas the sum of fifty pounds provided he in his own person comes to
this Island and claims the same.
Lastly I leave all my purchased lands of every description and
denomination and wheresoever situate to my beloved husband William
Tear, and I do nominate, constitute and appoint my said husband whole
and sole executor of this my will and residuary legatee of all the rest of
my property goods chattels and  effects of what kind or nature soever.
In witness whereof I hereunto subscribed my name as and for my last
will and testament the date above mentioned  the 14th Sep 1852.

At a Chapter Court held in Ramsey on the 26th day of May 1854.
John Corlett and William Garrett the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing
paper writing purporting to be the will of Jane Tear deceased having made
oath upon the Holy Evangelists that said Jane Tear the testatrix when of
sound and disposing mind memory and understanding duly executed the same in
their presence as and for her last will and testament William Tear the
executor therein named is therefore sworn well and truly to fulfill and
execute said will according to law to pay all
just debts and legacies and funeral expenses of said testatrix so far
forth as the goods and effects will extend and  the law bind him and also
to return to the Archdeacon's Registry a full true and perfect inventory
of said goods and effects with an accurate account of his acts and
proceedings in the premises when thereunto lawfully required and to
these ends he hath given pledges namely William Christian Senior and William
Christian Junior who have executed the usual bond in the
presence of the court.
