In the name of God Amen.
I Philip Teare of Lough Drughaig in the parish of Andreas being of a
sounds disposing mind memory and judgment at the making hereof do testify
this to be my last will and testament in presence of witnesses. First I
commend my soul to God who gave it and my body to be committed to a
Christian burial excluding the society I belong to to contribute
towards my funeral.
Secondly I leave and bequeath unto my son in law William Joughin in lieu
of the dowry or portion I owe him a parcel of land which I purchased
from William Fargher the said parcel being part of the quarterland of the
Ballaquane in the parish of Andreas all my right title and interest to the
same with the houses thereupon I bequeath unto him by way of legacy. Thirdly
I leave and bequeath unto my son Philip Teare Junior the sum of
one hundred pounds sterling with a feather bed and my own chest of drawers
which I use as my desk.
Fourthly I leave and bequeath unto my daughter Ann Teare but now Ann
Crennell the sum of one hundred pounds sterling besides a chest of drawers.
Fifthly I leave and bequeath unto my granddaughter Catharine Tear who
at present resides in America the sum of twenty pounds as legacy.
Sixthly I leave and bequeath unto my granddaughter Moira Joughin the
sum of twenty pounds and the feather bed upon which she at present sleeps
upon.
Seventhly I leave and bequeath unto any person or persons who claims a right
in this my will the sum of one shilling.
Lastly I nominate appoint constitute and and ordain my son in law
William Joughin whole and sole executor of all the rest reside and remainder
of my goods, chattels and effects moveable or immoveable of whatsoever kind
or description like  all cash, credits, promissory notes
and bonds for money.
And this I declare to be my last will and testament revoking and
disannulling all other wills as witness my name this the ninth day of
January One thousand eight hundred and fifty two.
