The humble petition of
James Teare of Ramsey
Sheweth
That Esther Teare late of the town of
Ramsey widow of William Teare late
of Ballacundry in Bride and mother of
the petitioner departed this life on
or about the 2nd Instant having
previously made and published her
last will and testament in writing
thereof appointing your petitioner
her executor.
That it is necessary that the will
aforesaid be forthwith established
in Law and the petitioner sworn
executor thereunder according to law.
14 Dec 1854
Wherefor your petitioner prays a hearing
of this petition and that he be sworn
executor thereunder in form of Law
and petitioner shall pray.

Ordered that this petitioner do come on to
be heard at an Ecclesiastical Court to be
holden in Ramsey on Friday the 22nd instant
whereof all proper parties and persons
concerned to have due notice.

Ramsey 22 Dec 1854
Upon hearing this petitioners in person
and the parties or their advocates will
upon examination of William Joughin and Ewan
Gill the ascribing witnesses to the will
of Esther Teare named and for consideration
had thereof. I am of opinion that the
due execution ____ ____ _____ ____ ______
and the probate thereof should be granted
as prayed for and the same is therefore
hereby ordered ajudged and decreed accordingly.

In the name of God amen
I Esther Teare widow of William Teare of
Ballacundry in the parish of Bride deceased
at present residing in the town of Ramsey
being weak in body but sound mind and memory
and understanding do make the following as
and for my last will and testament hereby
revoking and setting aside all and any will
and wills by me heretofore made or executed.
First; I commend my saoul to God and my
body to Christian burial.
Secondly I leave devise and bequeath
unto my several sons namely Robert Teare and
Charles Teare the sum of twenty pounds each as legacy.
Thirdly: I leave and bequeath unto my sons
William Teare and Philip Teare the sum of
five pounds each as legacy.
Fourthly: I leave and bequeath to my son James
the sum of five pounds as legacy.
Fifthly: I leave and bequeath unto my daughter
Margaret Bruce widow of James Bruce deceased
the sum of twenty pounds legacy.
Sixthly: I leave and bequeath to my Grand daughter
Esther child of John Goldsmith deceased now the
wife of John Corlett Of Ramsey, Baker, the sum
of forty pounds as legacy which legacy is to be
by my executor paid into her own hands and where
receipt alone without the sanction power or
control of any person shall be sufficient as legacy.
Seventhly: I leave and bequeath to my Grand son
Charles Goldsmith son of the aforesaid John
Goldsmith deceased the sum of five pounds as legacy.
And my will and desire is that none of the
legacies aforesaid shall be paid or my executor
herein after mentioned be persecuted for the
sum until twelve months after the probate of this
my last will.
Lastly I hereby nominate ordain and appoint my
said son James Teare my sole and whole executor
and residuary Legatee of this my last will and
testament. In testimony whereof I have hereunto
affixed my name or mark this 27th day of November 1854

William Joughin and Ewan Gill the subscribing witnesses of the
_____ paper writing purporting to be the last will and
testament of Esther Teare having made oath from the holy
Eucharist that the said Esther Teare was of sound mind
during the execution. She stayed in their presence as and
for her last will and testament affixing her mark _____
James Teare the executor named therein [is] therefor sworn
___ true to fulfill and execute according to Law and pay
all the just debts legacies and funeral expenses of the
testator as far forth as the goods will extend and the
law [bind him] and also to return to the Archdeacons Registry
of this diocese a full and true and perfect inventory of
the said estate with a correct account of his costs and ____
By the ______ when thereunto law ____ required and to
these [ends hath] given pledges namely William Joughin and
Charles Christian who hath executed the said ______
in the presence of the court.
