Lonan
1854        In the name of God, Amen
I Ann Quayle widow of Laxey in the Parish
of Lonan being in my declining years and
knowing the uncertainty of this transitory
life and the certainty of death being of a
sound disposing mind and memory do make
this my Last Will and Testament. First I 
commit my soul to God who gave it and my body
to a Christian burial and as to my worldly 
effects I dispose of in manner following
I leave and bequeath to my Daughter Jane 
Quayle the feather bed bedding and bedstead
I sleep in at present a table a chest and
a chair those whom she choose – I leave two
shillings and six pence each to all the rest
of my children – Lastly I revoking 
all other wills heretofore all words
or intentions uttered delivering this to
be my last Will and Testament and
nominating and appointing my well
beloved son James Quayle whole and sole
Executor of all the rest of my goods and
chattles movable and immovable of whatever
nature or denomination soever as witness
my subscription this the 9th Day of September
