In the name of God Amen. I Jane Caine late of Lhergydhoo in the parish
of KK German but now of the town of Peel widow being of sound and disposing
mind memory and understanding do make publish and declare
this to be my last will and testament in manner following:
I commit my soul to God and my body to decent Christian burial. I leave and
bequeath to my daughter Mary Fisher alias Caine the sum of one
pound sterling.
I leave and bequeath to my son William Caine the sum of one pound
sterling.
I leave and bequeath to my son John Cain the sum of one pound sterling.
I leave and bequeath to my daughter Margaret Garrett alias Caine the sum of
one pound sterling.
I leave and bequeath to my granddaughter Sarah Quayle the bed and
bedding that I now sleep on six caine bottom'd chairs, chest of drawers,
and two small tables.
I leave and bequeath to my daughter in law Isabella Caine alias Gell the
sum of one pound sterling.
I leave and bequeath to the poor of Peel the sum of one pound sterling.
I leave and bequeath to the Treasurer of the Peel Branch Wesleyan Methodist
Missionary Society the sum of two pounds sterling for the Missionary
Society.
And lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my son Thomas Caine
and my daughter Eliza Quayle alias Caine joint executor and
executrix and residuary legatees of and under this my last will and
testament
In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name this the
Eleventh day of November One thousand eight hundred and fifty three

As a codacil to this my last will I leave and bequeath to my daughter
Mary Fisher alias Caine my best stuffed easy chair this the 12th day of
January 1855.

At a Chapter Court held in Peel Town on the 9th day of November 1855. John
Morrison and Robert Teare the subscribing witnesses to the before going
paper writings bearing date respectively the 11th November 1853 and 12th
January 1855. purporting to be the will and codicil of
Jane Caine deceased having made oath upon the Holy Evangelists that
said Jane Caine the Testatrix when of sound a disposing mind memory
and understanding duly and severally signed and executed the same as
and for her last will and testament and codicil thereto in their presence
- Thomas Caine the executor and William Quayle husband of Eliza Quayle
the executrix and in right of his said wife are therefore sworn well and
truly to fulfil and execute the said will and codicil according to law - to
pay all the just debts, legacies, and funeral expenses of said testatrix so
far forth as the goods and effects will extend and the law bind them and
also to return to the Episcopal Registry a full true and perfect inventory
of said estate and effects with an accurate account of their acts and
proceedings in the premises when thereunto lawfully required. And to these
ends they have given pledges namely John Morrison and Robert
Teare who have executed the usual bond in the presence of the court
