62 Ballaugh
In the name of God Amen,
I John Craine of Squeen of the parish of Ballaugh being weak in body but
of a sound disposing mind memory and understanding do make declare and
publish this my last will and testament in the following manner and
form viz;
First I commend my soul to God and my body to a Christian burial.
I leave and bequeath to my son John the principle with the interest
arising thereon of a bond and security on a field called Ballaterson's Flat
and Broughjairge
I leave and bequeath to my granddaughter Ellenor Corlett a bed and
bedding.
I leave and bequeath unto my granddaughter Ellenor Craine daughter of John
Craine a bed and bedding.
I leave and bequeath unto my grandson Robert Craine son of John Craine the
sum of twenty pounds.
I leave and bequeath unto my two grandsons Thos and John Craine son's
of Thomas Craine the sum of twenty pounds each.
I leave and bequeath unto Allen Taubman son of James Taubman the sum
of twenty pounds
I leave and bequeath unto Ann Quiggin my servant a cow and bed besides
a note which I have passed over unto her hands bearing the amount of one
hundred pounds.
I leave and bequeath unto the poor of the parish of Ballaugh the sum of
ten pounds the interest thereof to be paid annually to the poor of the
said parish.
I leave and bequeath to the Ballaugh Sundays School the Primitive and
Wesleyan Sunday School the sum of ten pounds the interest to be paid
annually into the hands of the managers of the aforesaid school.
I leave and bequeath unto any person who may be lawfully entitled to
participate in any part of my goods and effects and not here before provided
for the sum of one shilling each as legacy.
Lastly I nominate constitute ordain and appoint my son Thomas Craine whole
and sole executor of this my last will and testament and residuary legatee
of all and singular the rest and remainder of my goods, moneys, credits, and
effects of all description whatsoever and wheresoever.
In testimony whereof I hereunto subscribed my name this the 9th day of March

At an Eccl Court held in Kirk Michael on the 31st day of May 1855 - Thomas
Craine sworn in to execute the will of John Craine. (James Taubman who
opposed the probate on the 28th of April last and withdrew opposition on the
29th instant
Thomas Craine departed this life in or about the 17th day of August 1861
intestate and without fully executing the said will of his father John
Craine his widow Margaret Craine wife of Thomas was sworn well and
truly to perform said will in accordance with the intentions of the
testator and to administer all and singular the un-administered person
estate and effects of said deceased according to law by paying the just
debts and funeral expenses of the deceased and the legacies contained in his
said will so far forth as the same will thereto extend and the law
bind her and also to return into the Archdeacon's Registry a full true and
perfect inventory of said estate and effects with an accurate account of her
administration thereof when thereunto lawfully require and to these ends she
hath given pledges namely Thomas Mylecraine of Ballamoar and John Corlett of
Dollagh Beg both in the parish of Ballaugh who have
entered into and executed the usual bond in presence of the court.

20 June 1871 - Probate granted to Margaret Craine widow of Thomas Craine
deceased to whom Letters of Administration de bonis non with
the will annexed of the said John Craine deceased . Letters of
Administration de bonis non with the will annexed of the estate of John
Craine late of Squeen deceased to Thomas Mylecraine of Ballamoar in the
parish of Ballaugh and accordingly he is therefore sworn well and truly
to Administer all and singular the personal estate and effects of the
said testator left unadministered by the said Margaret Craine deceased in
terms of his will an according to law.
He gave pledges Thomas William Green of Ballacurn Ballaugh and Thomas
Radcliffe of the town of Ramsey parish of Maughold
