The humble petition
of William Corkish
Sheweth
That your petiioner's father
Christopher Corkish of Rushen
on or about 28th June last
departed this life intestate,
leaving his widow Catherine
Corkish and his children Patrick
Corkish, Catharine Corkish, Thomas
Corkish, Henry Corkish and
petitioner him surviving
That it is expedient that
administration of his estate be
granted, and your petioner begs
to propose William Bell of this
parish as a fit and proper
person for that purpose
Wherefore your petitioner
prays a hearing of this
petition and that the said
William Bell or some other
fit and proper person
or persons may be
appointed adminstrator
or administrators of
his estate according
to law, and your
petioner will pray etc
At an ecclesiastical Court holden
in Castletown 23 November 1855
.....
his only next of kin surviving are decreed
the administrators of all and singular
his goods moveable & immoveable .....
... and William Bell by consent of parties
is sworn well and truly to administer the same
according to law, to pay all just debts and
funeral expenses of the deceased so far forth
as the goods will extend and the law bind him,
to return a full true and perfect inventory
and accounts of the said estate.
