The humble petition of Jane Cowley of the town of Ramsey widow.
Sheweth that some short time ago Philip Cowley your petitioner's
husband departed this life intestate. That it is necessary that some fit
and proper person should be appointed to administer his estate for the
benefit of all parties.
wherefore your petitioners prays a hearing hereof and that your Worship may
be pleased to appoint and swear Thomas Cowley of the parish of Lezayre
brother of the said Philip Cowley or some other fit and proper person to
administer the estate of the said Philip Cowley in form of law and she will

At an Eccl Court held at Ramsey 28th May 1856
Upon hearing this petition in presence of the parties or their advocates
and it appearing that Philip Cowley some time ago departed this life
intestate leaving John Webster Cowley, Robert Henry Cowley, Thomas William
Cowley, Jane Sophia Cowley, Francis Stephen Cowley, Mary Anne Cowley, Joseph
Edward Cowley, Margaret Catherine Cowley, Philip
Hebden Cowley, and George Herbert Cowley his only children next of kin they
are decreed joint administrators of all and singular the goods
rights credits chattels and effects of the deceased and Thomas Cowley
is sworn in trust well and truly to administer the said estate according
to law and to pay all the just debts and funeral expenses of the deceased so
far forth as the goods will extend and the law bind him and to return
to the Episcopal Registry of this diocese a full true and perfect
inventory of the said estate with an accurate account of his acts and
proceedings in the premises when thereunto lawfully required and to
these ends he has given pledges namely William Callow and John
Kerruish who have executed the usual bond in; the presence of the court.
