In the name of God Amen.
We William Corkill and Jane Corkill
My wife both of the Town of Ramsey in the
Isle of Man being of sound mind, memory
And understanding at the making hereof. Do
Make publish and declare this to be our Joint
Last Will and Testament as follows viz.
Firstly: WE commit our souls to Mighty God
And our bodies to decent Christian burial
Trusting through the merits of o ur Saviour
Jesus Christ to have a joyful resurrection.
Item,2nd; WE leave and bequeath unto each
Of our four sons namely John, William,
Henry and Joseph the sum of _______
To be paid unto each of them by the last suevivor
Of us the said William Corkill and Jane
Corkill at the expiration of Twelve months
After the decease of the last survivor of us.
Item 3rd We leave and bequeath unto each of
Our two daughters namely Emma and Isabell
The sum of ______ to be paid unto each
Of them by the last survivor of us the said
William Corkill and Jane Corkill at the expi-
Ration of Twelve months after the decease of us.
Fourthly and Lastly We leave and Bequeath
Unto us the said William Corkill and Jane
Corkill all and sole the rest of our property
And effects whether moveable or immovable
Including all Cash, Cashes, promissory Notes
Book debts household furniture, beds and gears
Unto the last survivor of us the said William
Corkill and Jane Corkill to be held and enjoyed
Without control or hindrance by the last of
Us. Such Legacies however as are named in
The first page to be paid by the Executor or
Executrix as the case may happen. The survivor
Of us to act in that capacity.
In Witness whereof we have hereunto
Subscribed our names this the ______day of
_______ in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and fifty five. (1855)

William Caley and William Quayle the subscribing Witnesses

the survivor and Executrix in said Will named
is therefore sworn well and truly to fulfil and execute
the same according to Law to pay all the just debts
Legacies and Funeral expenses of said testator
So far forth as the goods and effects will extend
And the Law bind her, and to return to the
Episcopal Registry a full true and prefect inventory
Of said Estate and Effects with as accurate
Account of her acts and proceedings in the
Premises when thereunto lawfully required
And to these ends she hath given pledges
Namely William Corlett and Hugh Brown,
Who have entered into and executed the
Usual bond in presence of the Court.
