30 Rushen
This is the last will and testament of me Thomas Turnbull of
Ballqueeney in the parish of Rushen being of sound mind and memory at
the making hereof and hereby revoking all former wills made by me.
I devise unto my son James Turnbull a certain parcel of land part of that
field situated West of the high road and in front of my dwelling house
the said parcel of land being bounded on the south by the parcel of land
lately granted by me to my son William Turnbull and extending there
from in length a length along the high road to a point sixteen feet
---------- of the south and of the east house or shed adjoining the
house now in part occupied by my said son James as a workshop and extending
fifteen yards or breath from the said high road unto the said field the
whole length thereof together with the said sixteen feet in
length by the high road of the south end of the said cart house and shed and
the house now occupied by my said sons James and William both of such
building bequeathed therein the aforesaid premises land part of Ballqueeney
in the said parish to hold unto them the said James Turnbull
his heirs and assigns forever.
I also bequeath unto my said son James Turnbull a bedstead, feather bed, and
beddings and also any two of the pictures in the parlour that he may choose.
I devise unto my sons James Turnbull and William Turnbull that parcel of
land part of the Ballaqueeney aforesaid in the said parish which I
purchased from Elizabeth Ann Cain and Charles Shuttleworth Cain and on the
east side of Kelly ------ leading from my house to -------- to hold
unto them their heirs and assigns forever equally between them share
and share alike provided always that they and their heirs and assigns
shall ever erect any building therein in their ---- years of my dwelling
house.
I devise unto my son Richard Turnbull my dwelling house which I now occupy
and the garden at the back and east of said house with the
passage at the south ---- and the premises belonging thereto the same being
part of Ballaqueeney aforesaid.
I also devise and unto my said son Richard Turnbull that field or parcel
of land part of Ballaqueeney aforesaid in the said parish situate west of
the high road in front of my dwelling house together with the stackyard,
Kelly cow house, barn and the yard adjoining thereto the remaining part
of north and of the said cart house and other buildings erected on the lands
of Ballaqueeney not hereinbefore devised such field buildings and premises
being bounded on the south by Ballaqueeny quarterland road in the West by
the property of William Taylor on the north by the high road and on the east
by the property of my son William the premises herein devised unto my son
James and by the high road to have and to hold the said dwelling house
garden and premises and the said field stackyard, buildings, yard and
premises unto him the said Richard Turnbull and his heirs and assigns
forever.
I also bequeath unto my said son Richard Turnbull the whole of the household
furniture in my dwelling house and also my right property and interest in
two several leases of part of the Rowany granted to me by William Gawne
deceased and John Gawne and also my right and interest
in two several leases part of Ballaqueeney granted unto me by John
Taylor.
I devise unto my son Thomas Turnbull my part or moiety of the smithy, cart
house and premises part of Ballakilley in the said parish and also
the two fields part of Ballaqueeney aforesaid in the said parish bounded
on the west of the said property of Elizabeth Ann Caine and Charles
Shuttleworth Cain, on the south by the land of Mary Kelly on the east of the
land of John Taylor and on the north by the high road to hold unto
him his heirs and assigns forever.
I bequeath unto my granddaughter Catharine Turnbull daughter of my son
Thomas the sum of twenty pounds sterling.
I bequeath unto my grandsons Thomas Clague, Henry Clague and John Clague son
of my daughter Jane Clague the sum of one hundred pounds equally between
them share and share alike the same to be advanced and paid by my executors
hereinafter names unto my said grandsons when they shall respectively attain
sixteen years of age and not before and to be applied towards sending them
to trades and in case of the decease of any of my said grandsons the
survivors or survivor of them shall be entitled to received the share of the
decease one or more of them but it
is hereby expressly declared and directed that my executors shall pay
the annual interest to arise on the said sum of one hundred pounds and on
any part thereof which may be within hands unto my daughter the said Jane
Clague for her own use and which she is hereby declared to be
entitled to receive until my said grandsons shall respectively attain
sixteen years of age.
I leave and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of my goods and
effects, bonds, bills, notes, chattels, and personal estate of every
description unto my sons Thomas, William, James and Richard equally between
them share and share alike and I nominate and appoint my said sons James and
Richard executors of this my last will and testament.
