57   Lezayre
This is the last will and testament of us Thomas Southward and Ann Southward
of Sulby Village in the parish of Lezayre jointly made
declared and published this 28th day of February 1856.
First we commit our souls to God and our bodies to decent Christian
burial.
Secondly We leave the either to the other who may be the survivor of us the
use benefit and enjoyment of all and singular that and those
purchased lands and manorial rolls belonging in or near the village of
Sulby in the parish of Lezayre together with the houses buildings mills
machinery and appurtenances to the  same belonging and also the
interest of all monies to us belonging and the use and enjoyment of all
and singular our goods and effects during the life time of such survivor.
Thirdly We leave and bequeath to our daughter Mary Ann Southward the sum of
two hundred  pounds to be paid her at an upon the death of the survivor of
us or sooner if such survivor chooses to pay the same and
this legacy to be exclusive of a further sum to  be left her per our ----
----.
Fourthly We leave and devise to our two sons Thomas John Southward
and Frances Southward in equal proportions share and share alike all and
singular that and those our purchased lands houses mills machinery and
all appurtenance to the same belonging the same being legacy and
situated in our near to the old village of Sulby in the parish of Lezayre
To Have and to Hold the same to them and their heirs and assigns forever
commencing the possession thereof immediately upon the death of the survivor
of us.
And we also leave to our two sons that meadow in the parish lately purchased
by us from Nicholas Killip lying near the Cleanagh in the said parish of
Lezayre.  To Hold the same to them and their heirs and assigns they paying
in equal proportion upon their possessing the same upon the death of the
survivor of us the sum of one hundred pounds to our aforesaid daughter Mary
Ann Southward the said sum to be a lien and charge upon the said meadow
until it is fully paid and satisfied.
Lastly we leave all the rest residue and  remainder of our goods cash
credits chattels and effects the either to the other who may be the survivor
and we nominate constitute and appoint the survivor of us
whole and sole executor or executrix of this our joint will.  In witness
whereof we subscribed our names hereto this 28th day of Feb 1856. Thos C.
