This is declared to be the last will and testament of me Phillip Cain late
of the parish of Ballaugh but now of the town of Ramsey shoemaker being weak
in body but of sound disposing mind memory and understanding at
the making and publishing hereof.
I commend my soul to God and my body to Christian burial.
I give leave and bequeath whatever sum of money comes to my share by virtue
of the will of my grandmother Judith Killip and which is payable
upon the death of my mother to my two youngest brothers, Thomas Caine and
Daniel Caine equally between them.
I give devise and bequeath to my brother John Caine that parcel of land
situate in  the parish of Andreas which was settled on me by my father
William Caine late deceased now in the possession of William Cormode
as tenant commonly called Minner's Croft to have and to hold the same with
all houses easements rights and appurtenances thereto belonging to him my
said brother John and his heirs and assigns to commence the possession
thereof immediately upon the death of his  mother Jane Caine alias Killip to
whom I leave the said lands and houses and rents, issues,
and profits thereof during the term of her natural life and I leave and
devise the said property of house and lands to my said brother on condition
that he do pay to the Treasurer of the Wesleyan Methodist Missionary Society
on his possession the said premises the sum of thirty pounds sterling and I
also leave and devise to the said property of lands and premises to my
brother John with the understanding and under the injunction that he is not
to sell or dispose of the same, or pass the premises or any part thereof in
mortgage and in case he my said brother dies without lawful issue, that the
said lands and premises are to pass
and fall and descend to his next succeeding younger brother and his heirs.
In witness whereof I hereunto subscribe my name as and for my last will and
