The humble petition of Thomas E. Stowell and William Clucas creditor of Ann
Radcliffe deceased.
Sheweth: That some time ago Ann Radcliffe of the town of Ramsey departed
this life intestate and indebted to your petitioners.
That no representation has been set up to the estate of the said Ann
Radcliffe to enable your petitioners to established their claims against
the said estate.
Wherefore your petitioners prays a hearing hereof and upon proof of the
matters aforesaid your Worship may be pleased to appoint and swear some fit
and proper person to administer to the estate of the said Ann Radcliffe
And your petitioner will every pray

Ordered that this petition to come on to be heard at an Eccl Court to be
held at Ramsey on Friday the 17th instant at 10 o'clock whereof all
proper parties and persons are to have due notice.

At an Eccl Court held in Ramsey the 17th Feb 1860.
Upon hearing this petition in presence of the parties or their advocates and it appearing
that Ann Radcliffe of the town of Ramsey departed this life a widow and
intestate leaving Thomas Radcliffe, Anne. C. P. Radcliffe, Robert
Radcliffe, and Daniel Radcliffe her children and only next of kin her
surviving all of whom are therefore decreed sole administrators of all
and singular the goods, rights, credits, chattels, and effects of the said
deceased and Thomas Corkill is sworn in trust well and truly to
administer the said estate according to law, to pay all just debts and
funeral expenses of the deceased so far forth as her goods will extend
and the law bind him to return a true and faithful inventory thereof with
an accurate account of this acts and proceedings in the premises to the
Episcopal Registry where thereunto lawfully required and to these ends
he has given pledges namely Daniel Sayle and Thomas Radcliffe who have
entered into and executed the usual bond in presence of the court.
Decretum Est T. A. Corlett
Whereas the estate of Daniel Radcliffe formerly of Liverpool but lately
resident in New Zealand and now deceased is justly indebted unto
William Allen, of Douglas, Grocer, in the sum of seventy pounds and upwards.
And whereas the said Daniel Radcliffe was entitled in his
lifetime to a share of the residue of the estate of his deceased mother Ann
Radcliffe amounting to the sum of ten pounds eighteen shillings and four
pence which sum is now in the hands of Thomas Corkill of Ramsey
as Administrator of the said Ann Radcliffe. And whereas there are no other
creditors of the estate of the said Daniel Radcliffe in this island
and the said William Allen has requested the said Thomas Corkill
administrator as aforesaid to pay over to him the said residue of the estate
of the said Ann Radcliffe to which the said Daniel Radcliffe was entitled as
aforesaid on account and in part payment of the said sum of seventy pounds
which the said Thomas Corkill has agreed to do upon the said William Allen
undertaking to indemnify defend and save him and his executors and
administrators harmless from all liability in respect
thereof in the event of the said Thomas Corkill or his executors or
administrators being called upon and compelled to pay the same over
again
Now know all men by these presents that the said William Allen doth
hereby own and acknowledge to have received from the hands of the said Ann
Radcliffe deceased the said sum of ten pounds eighteen shillings and four
pence being the proportion of the residue of the said estate to
which the said Daniel Radcliffe deceased became entitled as aforesaid
together with a further sum of four pounds being interest allowed by the
said Thomas Corkill thereon, and in consideration of such payment the
said William Allen doth thereby for himself and his heirs executors and
administrators covenant and engage to and with the said Thomas Corkill and
his executors and administrators of and from all liability claim or demand
whatsoever in respect of the said sum of fourteen pounds eighteen shillings
and four pence. And further that in the event of the
said Thomas Corkill or his executors or administrators being hereafter
compelled to pay the said sum or any part hereof that he the said
William Allen or his heirs executors or administrators shall and will
when called upon so to do repay the same to the said Thomas Corkill his
executors or administrators with all interest costs or expenses incurred by
him or them in respect thereof. In witness whereof the said William Allen
hath thereunto subscribed his name this Twenty eighth day of June one
thousand eight hundred and eighty one.

Whereas Ann Radcliffe of Ballaradcliffe in the parish of Andreas some
time since departed this life intestate and administration of her estate was
on the 17th day of February 1860 granted to Thomas Corkill of Ramsey who
duly proceeded and has wound up the said estate according
to law. And whereas John Thomas Killip, Mary Ann Killip and George
Killip nephews and niece of the said Ann Radcliffe deceased are entitled
among them equally to our distributive share of the residuary personal
estate of the said Ann Radcliffe deceased and they being all of them off
island are represented by John Killip of the Rock Lezayre and Thomas
Radcliffe of BallRadcliffe the said John Killip being Attorney for the
said John Thomas Killip and Mary Ann Killip under and by virtue of two
several powers of attorney both bearing date the 10th day of August 1870.
And the said John Killip of the Rock and Thomas Radcliffe of Ballaradcliffe
being guardians of the said George Killip the other party entitled as
aforesaid and who is a minor under the age of twenty one years. And whereas
the share of the said residuary estate to which the said three parties are
collectively entitled is the sum of ten pounds eighteen shillings and four
pence which they have called upon the said Thomas Corkill in his capacity of
administrator aforesaid to pay over to the said John Killip of the Rock and
Thomas Radcliffe of Ballaradcliffe which he has agreed to do upon receiving
a proper receipt and discharge for the same. No know all men by these
presents that the said John
Killip Attorney for John Thomas Killip and Mary Ann Killip and the said
John Killip and Thomas Radcliffe guardians of George Killip do hereby
own and acknowledge to have received and to be paid by and from the
said Thomas Corkill in his said capacity the said sum of ten pounds
eighteen shillings and four pence in full discharge and satisfaction of
the distributive share of the said John Thomas Killip, Mary Ann Killip and
George Killip of the residuary personal estate of the said Ann Radcliffe
deceased. And do hereby forever acquit and discharge the said Thomas
Corkill his executors and administrators form all claim and demand in
respect thereof and from all such actions and claims in respect of the
said residuary estate or any part thereof. Witness their names this
fifteenth day of October 1870
