In the name of God Amen
I Henry Radcliffe of Doarlishard in the parish of Patrick being of sound
disposing mind memory and understanding do make publish and declare this
my last Will and Testament in manner following:-
Firstly I leave and faithfully commend my Soul to God hoping for a blissful i
mmortality through Jesus Christ our Lord and my body to decent Christian burial.
Secondly I leave and bequeath to my son Thomas Radclffe and to my daughters
Mary Ann and Eleanor Radcliffe, all three in America at the date hereof, the
sum of Two shillings and sixpence each.
Thirdly and Lastly I leave and bequeath to my two youngest daughters Leonora
Jane Radcliffe and Catharine Radcliffe the remainder of my worldly property
of every denomination moveable and immoveable consisting of two thatched
dwelling houses and a garden in front and another garden at the east gable
and a small field bounded on the North by a field now in the holding of
Thomas Barratt on the East by Ballamooar on the South by the meadow the property
of John Morrison and on the West by the old publick road from Castletown to
Peel the said houses gardens and field being part of the Estate of Dooarlish
Ard in the Parish of Patrick and which property I purchased from Patrick Clark
and wife together with the residue of my goods chattels and effects to be by
them possessed equally share and share alike at and after the decease of my
beloved wife Eleanor Radcliffe to whom I reserve a life interest in said property.
And in the event of the death of either of my two youngest daughters viz
Leonora Jane and Catharine then and in that case the survivor of them shall
possess the whole after the decease of my wife Eleanor Radcliffe .
And I do hereby nominate and appoint my beloved wife Eleanor Radcliffe
sole Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have
hereunto subscribed my name and mark this the twenty ninth day of August 1859.

At a Chapter Court held in Castletown on the 25th dat of May 1860
John Radcliffe and John Woolcock the subscribing Witnesses to the
foregoing paper writing purporting to be the Will of Henry Radcliffe
deceased having made Oath upon the Holy Evangelists that said Henry
Radcliffe the Testator when of sound and disposing mind memory and
understading duly signed and executed the same as and for his last
Will and Testament in their presence. Eleanor Radcliffe the Testator’s
widow the Executrix in said Will named is therefore sworn well and
truly to fulfil and execute the same according to Law by paying all
the just debts Legacies and Funeral expenses of the deceased so far
forth as the Goods and Effects will thereto extend and the law bind
her to return to the Archdeacon’s Registry a full true and perfect
Inventory of said Estate and Effects with an accurate account of her
acts and proceedings in the premises when thereunto lawfully required.
And to these ends she hath given pledges namely John Woolcock and
William Curphey who have entered into and executed the usual Bond
in presence of the Court.

Whereas the Ecclesiastical Court of this Diocese hath this day granted
Probate of the Last Will and Testament of Henry Radcliffe deceased to
Leonora Jane Radcliffe Eleanor Radcliffe the Widow and Exix
And Wheareas William Curphey Kerrow Kiel in the Parish of Malew and
John Woolcock of Foxdale in the Prish of Patrick have agreed to become
pledges for the said Leonora Jane Radcliffe Eleanor Radcliffe for
the due administrations of the said Estate according to law.
Therefore know all men by these Presents that we the said W Curphey and
John Woolcock hereby bind and oblige ourselves and our Executors and
Administrators as pledges for the said Leonora Jane Radcliffe Eleanor Radcliffe
for the due and faithful administration of the goods and effects of the
said deceased according to law. And in her default we bind ourselves
and our Executors anad Administrators to be answerable to all parties
interested in the said Estate or the Administration thereof.
