Know all men by these presents that we
William Lewney and Elizabeth Lewney
my wife of the village of Laxey divers good
causes and valuable reasons moveing us
unto but more especially for the sum of five
shillings in hand paid unto us by and
from the hands of Catherine Lewney our
daughter. And for the further consideration of the
love and affection we bear unto her Catherine
Lewney our daughter aforesaid hath given
granted settled and sold and doth by
virtue of these presents give grant settle
and sell unto her all and singular
a certain dwelling house outhouse and
garden belonging unto us and at present
in our own occupation situated in
Laxey in the Parish of Lonan and the
same bounded in the south by
the high water mark in the west the
property of William Mylchreest in the
north the property of Catherine Fargher and in
the east the property of James Quayle
To have and to hold unto her the said
Catherine Lewney our daughter her Executors
Administrators and Assigns from the day of
the death of the longest liver of us William
Lewney and Elizabeth Lewney. The aforesaid
recited dwelling house outhouse yards
gardens easements liberties ways waters
water courses and all appurtenances to
same connected or belonging together
with all our goods chattells and effects
of every description from us William
Lewney and Elizabeth Lewney our
Heirs Executors Administrators and
Assigns that we William Lewney and
Elizabeth Lewney or the last survivor
of us do reserve the power in ourselves
that if in case of us becoming in want
of the necessaries of life to mortgage
or dispose of a part of the said
recited property for that end and purpose
And to the true and faithful perform
ance of the same we William Lewney
and Elizabeth Lewney bind ourselves
our Heirs, Executors Administrators
and Assigns in the penalty of fifty
pounds to be levied and paid accord-
ing to law as witness our names
this the twenty fifth day of September
one thousand eight hundred and fifty four
