This is the last will and testament of Margaret Thomson of Mona Terrace
widow.
I give and bequeath unto my son Thomas Thomson the one hundred pounds
previously lent to him by his father and I direct his promissory notes or
the same to be given up to him without payment of any interest due thereon.
I also give unto my said son Thomas his fathers writing desk, _______ silver
tablespoons, six large silver forks, one silver butter knife, and one pair
of plated coasters.
I give and bequeath unto my son Heywood Thomson one hundred pounds to be
paid out of the money now in  The Holme's Bank.  Also I give unto my said
son Heywood his father's small gold seal with the breast thereon. Also I
give him one silver soup ladle, two silver butter ladles, two silver gravy
spoons, and one pair of silver coasters.
I give and bequeath to my daughter Margaret the Modern Travelers in twenty
three volumes and also all the books in the book case.   Also I give her one
silver marrow spoon, one small silver skewer, and I hereby ratify and
confirm to her the gift made to  her  in her father's life time of twelve
silver forks, eighteen dessert spoons, twelve  silver teaspoons ,and four
silver salt spoons.  Also I give unto her the glass butter coolers and the
glass dishes and salt cellars.
I give and bequeath unto my daughter Eliza the sum of fifty pounds and of
the money now in The Holmes Bank.  I also give unto her a silver coffee pot
and stand for the same also a silver ------------ and stand for the same.
The china and seventeen finger glasses.
I give and bequesth unto my daughter Rebecca the sum of fifty pounds out of
the money now in Mr Holmes Bank.  I also give unto her a silver tea pot and
cream jug, a sugar basin and tongs, three small silver teaspoons, two silver
salt spoons and a silver spoon for the tea  caddie.  Also the articles of
household furniture belonging to me and which are all well known to the
family.  Also I bequeath to her the large bible given to me by my daughter
Mona.
Also I give unto her Gun's Services and Bridges and the one hundred and
nineteeth Psalm.
I give and bequeath unto my grandddaughter Nessy Stephen the best large
bible over and above the provision I have otherwise made for her by Deed of
_______date herewith.
I give and bequeath unto my granddaughter Mary Kerwin Thomson only child  of
the late Calcott Thomson and to my granddaughter Margaret Thomson daughter
of Peter Thomson the  sum  of fifty pounds each to be paid out of the money
now in Mr Holmes hands.
I give and bequeath unto my present servant Jane Garrett if she should be
living in my service at the time of my decease the sum of five pounds
together with my wearing apparel over and above the proportion of wages
which may be payable to her up to the day of my decease.
And lastly I do  hereby nominate constitute and appoint my two daughters
Margaret Thomson and  Rebecca Thomson if unmarried at the time of my decease
joint  executrixes of this my will and in case either of my said daughters
should be married  before my decease then I appoint the unmarried one sole
executrix of my will and in case hath my said daughters should marry before
my decease then I nominate and appoint my three daughters or the survivors
of them joint executrixes of my said will.
And finally it is my will and desire that whosoever shall become executrixes
or sole executrix of my said estate shall in consideration of the --------
they or she may have be also residuary legatees or sole residuary legatee of
my said estate.  In witness, whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name
this 29th August 1853.
