The humble petition of Elizabeth Cubbon of Albion Terrace in the parish
of Lezayre in the Isle of Man spinster.
That your petitioner's brother Lieutenant General Sir Mark Cubbon K. C. B.
formerly of the parish of Maughold in this Isle departed this life at Suez
in Egypt on his way home from India to this Isle in the month of April
last a bachelor and intestate and his remains were interred in the burial
ground of the said parish of Maughold on or about the seventeenth day of
That William Cubbon of the parish of Braddan in this Isle gentleman,
Maria Cubbon of the parish of Lezayre in this island spinster and your
petitioner the brother and sisters of the said Sir Mark Cubbon deceased are
his only next of kin and are entitled to administration of his estate. That
the said William Cubbon and Maria Cubbon have by instruments in writing
under their hands duly executed renounced their right to the administration
of the estate of the said Sir Mark Cubbon to in favor of your petitioner.
Wherefore your petr prays a hearing of this petition and that your
Worship may be pleased to grant unto your petitioner Letters of
Administration of the estate of the said Sir Mark Cubbon deceased in

William Cubbon and Maria Cubbon renounced all claim to the
administration of the estate and effects
on 17 Sep 1861 whereas Elizabeth Cubbon assumed administration of
all and singular the goods and effects of her brother Mark Cubbon with
pledges being Rev Bowyer Harrison and Richard Gelling of Douglas.
