This is the last will and testament of me James Cool, late Chief
Constable of Peel, made the twenty first day of August one thousand
eight hundred and sixty.
I leave and bequeath to my son James the sum of one pound as legacy.
I leave and bequeath to my son John the sum of ninety pounds as legacy.
I leave and bequeath to my daughter Jane the wife of Charles Cain the
sum of ninety pounds as a legacy and  I also give and devise to my said
daughter Jane all and singular the dwelling house situate in KK Michael
Street in the town of Peel adjoining the house in which I reside and
bounded by the Lane in the east on the north the late Philip Kaighin's
property on  the east, the street on the south and by my own house on the
west with the portion of the yard in the east of the said house as marked
out by me To hold unto the said Jane and her heirs and assigns forever. And
in the event of the death of the said Jane before me then my will is that
the said house and premises should go to and the same are hereby devised to
her children equally between them to hold to them and their heirs and
assigns forever.
I leave and bequeath to my daughter Ann wife of Thomas Kermode the sum of
one pound as a legacy.
I leave and bequeath to my daughter Hannah wife of William Cannell the sum
of ninety pounds as a legacy.
and I also give and devise to her the said Hannah that dwelling house and
premises situate in KK Michael Street in the Town of Peel adjoining the
said Street on the north , John Clucas on the east, William Sayle on the
west and Dodd's concerns on the south To hold unto, her, her heirs and
assigns forever.
And my will is and I do hereby direct that the devisees of the several
houses before named shall only be entitled to the possession of the same or
of the rents thereof on and from the 12th May next ensuing the day of my
decease and that the rents up to that day shall form part of my personal
estate and shall be for the benefit of my  wife Margaret Cool otherwise
Kermode.
And my will further is that the several legacies before named shall not
be payable until the expiration of one year after my decease and that no
interest shall be recoverable in respect of such legacies.
And my will further is that receipts for legacies to such of the legatees
that reside in foreign parts if authenticated according to the custom of the
country in which they severally reside shall be sufficient unless my
executor shall have any reason to doubt the validity of such receipts and
authentication.
I nominate and constitute and appoint Robert John Moore High Bailiff of Peel
executor of this my will in trust for the benefit of my said wife Margaret
Cool.
In witness where I have hereunto subscribed my name the day month and year

testament in our presence who at his request and in his presence have signed
our names as witnesses:
